Closed the chapter on my 30s.
I think the biggest take away is how much a person can change and evolve in the span of a decade. It’s a long time but at the same time it’s not. Being present made all the difference and so did being sober. I made peace with my demons and became more okay with myself than I ever could have in my 20s. I took control and gave less fcks all at the same time. I can truly say I loved those years. The good, the bad, the stunning, and the ugly. I’ve reconnected with myself more than ever.

But, it’s time to move on. I feel like my 30s laid a solid foundation of my true self, beliefs, and values. More confident and aware of the things that drive and drain me. I can only imagine what that’ll all translate to as I enter my 40s. ✨

Thank you to everyone who made my first few days at a new level so fun and so special. I’m grateful to call you my people.

The fitness gains I originally never thought about, but am SO happy to have come to realize and prioritize

Tell me again how it’s “just a workout.”

FREE. Appreciative. Grateful. Aware. Are all words that come to mind when you workout under the RIGHT INTENTIONS. Not from a place of self hate, punishment, or loathing. I know because I am living proof.

I, too, have used fitness in that exact negative way. My intentions were solely based on changing the parts I hated about myself. I turned to fitness to punish myself for everything I thought I wasn’t. I convinced myself that punishment was the way to my physical happiness, which then would make me happy overall…

Want to know what really happened? NONE of that. For years, I ended up being caught in very unhealthy and dangerous habits all in the name of “health and fitness.” My mind CONSTANTLY consumed with what I can, can’t, how much of or when to eat, what workout I need to do to burn what or offset that moment of weakness (aka my physical hunger cues), and never feeling it was enough. I got down to my smallest and I couldn’t see it, appreciate it, or be happy about it.

That’s why I will forever be the fitness trainer to catch how you speak and view working out and help you REFRAME it into what it has always been meant for, a truly empowering, uplifting, sustainable act of self appreciation, love, care, kindness, etc. Allowing you to bypass the years of toxic cycling and right into experiencing those first four words.

INTENTION BEHIND YOUR MOVEMENT MATTERS.

Not your typical list of squats and deadlifts, but these are the 5 exercises that get me super stoked when I see them in my programming ➡️

Let me know if you do any of these or better yet let me know which exercise is a MUST HAVE in your programming rotation.

LAT PULLDOWN
🎯 Back

I swear nothing makes you feel more powerful than one of these. Plus, it’s one of the best exercises you can incorporate for a stronger, more developed back.

COPENHAGEN LIFT
🎯 inner thigh (adductors)

So hard, BUT SO FKN GOOD! These have definitely helped strengthen and support my knee joint, which you all know has been a big issue for me in the past.

ROTATIONAL RDL
🎯 glutes with added transverse plane

The most neglected plane of motion and one in which our bodies still move in. The glute stretch here with added hip stability focus makes this one of my favorite variations of the RDL.

CROSS BODY DELT FLY
🎯 rear delts

I love shoulders! I love even more a truly developed shoulder, which includes the often neglected rear delts. The cross body adds a deeper stretch and really allows for that rear delts to work.

HALF KNEELING WINDMILL
🎯 core and shoulder stability

MUST ADD! If your hips are tight or if your knees don’t allow for kneeling, do it standing with support. The difference this move made in my overall core and shoulder strength is next level.
