Meet Dr. Brianna Lewis!

She is from Simpsonville and attended the Medical University of South Carolina. Her hobbies include salsa dancing, nail art, content creation, learning languages, hiking and baking. Dr. Lewis chose SRHS because, "I grew up in the Upstate and I was excited to grow as a surgeon in the same area that I fell in love with medicine. I am looking forward to serving a community that I've known and loved all my life."

Meet Dr. Mark Kouame!

He is from Fort Mill, South Carolina and attended the Medical University of South Carolina. His hobbies include sports, foreign language, traveling, technology and cooking. Dr. Kouame chose SRHS because he was very impressed by his interview day experience at Spartanburg Regional. "The program genuinely expressed interest in supporting me in becoming a strong, well-rounded surgeon. I look forward to my growth and development throughout residency," he said.

He is from Westminster, Maryland and attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Virginia Campus. His hobbies include golf, skiing and snowboarding.

Dr. Thomas choose SRHS because in working with current residents and alumni of the program, it was clear to him that this program builds very confident and highly skilled surgeons, and he wanted to have the opportunity to become the best surgeon he can possibly be.

Meet Dr. Rhett Parr! He is from Bishop, Georgia and attended Mercer University School of Medicine. His hobbies include playing guitar, working on cars and watching UGA football. Dr. Parr chose SRHS "due to the emphasis the program places on resident autonomy and high case volume while also boasting excellent resident culture." He said he has no doubt this program will equip him with the skills needed to have a successful career in surgery.

She is from New Holland, PA and attended the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Virginia Campus. Her hobbies include baking, sewing, snowboarding, yoga and playing and watching sports. Dr. Simmons chose Spartanburg Regional because she was drawn to how comfortable she felt here and the overall culture. "I felt like I fit in! Meet Dr. Juiana Ames! She is from Prairie Village, Kansas and attended the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Her hobbies include yoga, hiking, skiing and spending time with her pets. Dr. Ames chose Spartanburg Regional because of the strong sense of community. She could tell it was a supportive environment with a close-knit team, and she was drawn to the high case volume and emphasis on early operative experience.

Dr. Martin chose SRHS because, "the leadership made sure [he] knew they wanted [him] to come to Spartanburg and that they would have [his] back."
