Guild of New England Stonelifters

Guild of New England Stonelifters The Guild of New England Stone Lifters is an organization dedicated to the meditation of liting stones of all kinds in many different ways.

The Guild of New England Stone Lifters was founded in October 2011 with the hopes of bringing together the rare individuals who enjoy the challenge of stone lifting. Stone lifting has had a long history in the world in many cultures and no doubt a long history in New England. Our hopes are that we can grow this organization with people who are willing and wanting to share their experiences of ston

e lifting as well as their favorite stones. Ultimately we'd like to have some relatively organized stone lifting events (even if they are just group liifting sessions) in different places with different stones. Bear with us as we get started but we'll try to post events/training sessions a few days early in the status updates. Members feel free to post your events as well!

fellows. this is a way to get serious exercise and shovel the walkways. if the rocks are covered in snow then make the snow into rocks! this beefy snowball was rolled on fairly even terrain and is a rough sphere of around 3 1/2 feet in diameter. the stick next to it is 4 ft. i push this thing untill i literally couldnt budge it another inch. somebody else out there roll a bigger one and take a pic! lets get a competion going.

this is a lava stone from hawaii. it was only about 100lbs but due to heavy rain the bigger ones remained unlifted. lava stone is a little lighter but sharp as knives in places. the natives have a history of stone lifting. the porous rocks can be shaped into spheres like atlas stones. they would crouch down and with a tremendous heave shoulder the stone in one fell swoop. sound awesome! I'm going to try it next session.

This was part of last weeks workout. I figured this out to work out around a lower back injury. For some reason flipping a 500lb tire didn't bother my back...but it also wasn't hard enough to be more than cardio so I hooked about 600lbs worth of stone to my truck pulling harness and went for it. Legs get destroyed! Its a great way to build driving strength and coordination. Curious to see how it transfers to heavier tires! By the way its crucial that your shorts be as short as mine to do this exercise.

Tristan got a 9 o'clock flip with the heavy caber today! First time its even come close to flipping! Also managed a two stone carry medley with the shield stone and gnarly stone....first time since recovering from a compressed l4 and l5! Should be a good stone lifting season! Will post some pictures and video soon!
