has four locations to serve the community. Rutherford Life Services (main office), The Learning Tree, Life Care Rutherford, and Utopia. The Learning Tree is a childrens development center serving children ages infant to 12 years old. For more information please contact 828-247-4979

Rutherford Life Services (main facility) provides day activities and/or job training to youth 13 years old to adults

ages 65+ who have a development disability or barrier to employment. For more information please contact 828-286-4352

Life Care Rutherford is an adult day health care providing services to elderly who need care during the day. For more information please contact 828-288-1697.

Rutherford Life Services will be celebrating 60 years this August!
On August 8, 1966 in the old Harris school building, then known as Rutherford Vocational Workshop, opened its doors to serve mentally disabled residents of Rutherford County. Ten years later, in 1976, we moved to the current location in Spindale.
We have changed a lot over the years. In 2001, we changed our name to Rutherford Life Services and began serving children and the elderly.
One thing has remained constant, and that is our love for people and the community.
We are making a scrapbook of our history and memories. If you have any items you would like to contribute… old pictures, newspaper clippings, etc please bring them by the office at 230 Fairground Rd. Spindale. If you have a memory to share or if we have positively impacted you or your family, we would love to hear about it. You can send your story to the same address or better yet, video your story and send to us at [email protected].
Thank you all for trusting us to care for your loved ones over the past 60 years. We hope we are able to continue our services for many more.
