When you repeatedly tell yourself:
“I’m overwhelmed.”
“I’m always fighting something.”
“Nothing ever gets easier.”

Your mind hears those messages over and over.

What if you intentionally practiced a different thought?

“I can handle today.”
“Things can work out for me.”
“I am creating more ease in my life.”

Positive thinking isn’t about pretending challenges don’t exist. It’s about becoming more intentional about the story you repeat to yourself.

Your thoughts are a practice.

Choose one today that feels good enough to believe.

Most new patients who find Rivercreek Wellness find me through Google.

Reviews help people who are searching for care discover my practice and learn about the experiences of people who have worked with me.

They also help my practice grow organically instead of relying heavily on paid advertising, which is one of the ways I can continue working to keep my appointment costs reasonable.

If you have been a patient and feel comfortable sharing your experience, a Google review is incredibly helpful.

And if you have already left a review, referred someone, shared a post, or recommended Rivercreek Wellness to someone you know, thank you.

Your support truly helps keep a small independent practice going.

Not every symptom has an obvious explanation.

Not every patient fits neatly into a diagnosis. And sometimes the first answer isn't the complete answer.

That is one of the reasons I enjoy working with complex health concerns.

I want to understand the bigger picture. I want to know why something is happening, what may be contributing to it, and whether there is something we haven't considered yet.

Even after 17 years, I am still researching, asking questions, attending conferences, and learning.

I don't think that part will ever stop.

Over the years, I have had the privilege of working with professional athletes, musicians, celebrities, executives, business owners, moms, dads, children, grandparents, and even people experiencing homelessness.

Different backgrounds. Different circumstances. Different health concerns.

But one thing has remained the same: everyone wants to feel better and have someone take their concerns seriously.

I have learned something from every type of person I have cared for. Those experiences have shaped how I listen, how I investigate complex cases, and how I practice medicine today.

It has been an incredible privilege to be part of so many people's healthcare journeys.

After 17 years, I am grateful for every person who has trusted me with their health.

Celebrating 17 Years in Private Practice

This month, I am celebrating 17 years in private practice.

When I look back over those years, I realize how much I have learned about healthcare, business, people, and myself. One thing I know for certain is that you never stop learning.

It takes a lot of grit to stay in business for 17 years. There have been challenges, changes, long days, successes, disappointments, and plenty of lessons along the way. But through all of it, I have continued to show up for my patients and for the work that I believe in.

When I entered naturopathic medicine, I thought much of my career would be about helping people prevent disease. Over the years, I learned that change often doesn't happen until there is a reason for it. Sometimes it takes symptoms that won't go away, a diagnosis, or simply reaching the point where you know something needs to change.

My practice has evolved into working with many people who have complex health concerns and cases that require more time, investigation, and attention. That is work I truly enjoy. I like asking questions, looking deeper, continuing to learn, and helping my patients find answers as they navigate their own journey toward better health.

After 17 years, I am still learning. I am still curious. And I am still grateful that I get to do this work.

I look forward to what the coming years bring, to everything I will continue to learn, and most importantly, to continuing to help people restore their health.

Thank you to every patient who has trusted me to be part of their healthcare journey over the past 17 years. It truly means a lot to me.

Fatigue is one of the most common symptoms I see in practice, but it can also be one of the most frustrating.

There are many possible reasons someone may feel exhausted, including thyroid dysfunction, anemia or low iron stores, blood sugar imbalance, nutrient deficiencies, poor sleep, chronic infections, autoimmune disease, hormonal changes, digestive issues, medications, stress, and environmental exposures.

The goal is not to assume there is one simple answer.

In my practice, I work with patients who often have more complicated health histories and need a deeper look at their symptoms, labs, lifestyle, environment, and overall health picture.

Sometimes the answer is obvious. Sometimes it takes time, additional testing, and putting several pieces together.

Fatigue is a clue.

The next question is: What is your body trying to tell you?

At Rivercreek Wellness, my goal is to help patients investigate those clues and work toward restoring their health.

YOU NEED TO ORDER THIS LAB: HOMOCYSTEINE

Homocysteine is a simple blood test that can give us valuable information about methylation and one-carbon metabolism, yet it isn't always included in routine blood work.

Why might I order it?

• Evaluate methylation function
• Identify possible B12, folate, B6, or B2 insufficiency
• Assess cardiovascular risk
• Investigate fatigue or brain fog
• Evaluate cognitive or neurologic concerns
• Determine whether an MTHFR variant may be functionally significant

A genetic variant like MTHFR tells us what could happen. Homocysteine can help us understand what is actually happening.

If homocysteine is elevated, the next question is always: Why?

Reaching for pain relievers again? Before you blame stress or screen time, consider what's in the air around you.

Common environmental triggers for headaches include:
🕯️ Synthetic fragrances (candles, air fresheners, perfumes)
🎨 VOCs from paint, new furniture, or cleaning products
🦠 Mold hiding behind walls or in HVAC systems
💡 Flickering or fluorescent lighting
🚗 Poor air quality and off-gassing chemicals

If your headaches show up in certain rooms, seasons, or situations — that's a clue, not a coincidence.

Let's investigate what your environment might be telling you. Schedule link in bio.
