Do it for 70-year-old you.

Try this combo for tight, stiff, achy hips and that cranky low back tension that builds from sitting, stress, workouts, driving… life.

✨ Alternating pigeon pose helps open the hips, glutes, and deep fascia that get sticky and restricted.

Warning ‼️‼️ vulnerable post.

There comes a time where your kids are the independent thriving young adults you brought them up to be . They still need you but they have their own lives , with their own friends . I’m gladly their assistant. Helping them live their best lives.

But….. it’s so hard to watch them not need me like they used to .

What to do when I find myself…. Alone.

Do I sit and feel sad? Fuuuuuck yes. Sometimes.

Also, I give myself permission to FEEL all the feels. Cry . Cry hard .

Then I hear my bestie in my head . She asks if I’m ok first . Then tells me I’m the Mother Fu***ng Magic. (Go get a bestie like this immediately)

So I whip out my journal and make a plan for my thoughts. The things I tell myself. The plans I make . Who do I want to surround myself with? What do I want my new life to look like now that have this new found freedom? This CAN be a gift.

Ever wondered if you should book a Massage or Fascia Stretch Therapy (FST)?

While both feel incredible, they take very different approaches to helping your body move and feel better.

Here is the breakdown of why FST isn’t “just a massage”

1. Joint Traction
traditional massage primarily uses downward pressure on the muscle, FST uses joint traction (gentle pull/opening). Think of it as “decompressing” your joints.

2. Active Range of Motion
In massage sessions, you’re often passive on the table. In FST, we incorporate active movement to help your nervous system realize it’s safe to move into new ranges.

3. PNF
FST utilizes Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF). This involves a contract-relax technique that signals your muscles to let go of chronic tension.

Basically: massage targets soft tissue for relaxation and tension relief.

FST uses assisted movement to decompress joints, stretch connective tissue, and improve mobility. This greatly relieves tension and stress while helping you move with more ease.

Both are great, especially when combined !

My Favorite People and Things: 💚💫

Yesterday, a visit between three dear friends and fellow practitioners turned into a perfectly timed gift I didn’t know how much I needed beforehand.

We shared food, laughs, real talk and stories, and then held individual sessions for both me and , followed by Deanna and I offering Reiki to Molly together (now THAT was powerful).

The whole thing was really quite magical and I’ll never forget it. It’s such a joy to have cherished friends, and it’s not too bad when those friends are also energy workers who want to exchange sessions in their home!

Practitioners come in all varieties and offerings. There’s something and someone for everyone.
