One of my favorite community traditions each year is being part of the ACC Turkey Trot and the David N. Levinson Memorial Scholarship Fund.

What makes it even more special is that many of my Ascend clients show up year after year to run, walk, volunteer, and support a cause that directly benefits local students in our community.

This year, we'll be hosting informational tables at two upcoming events:

📅 July 4 Food Truck Rodeo & Vendor Event

Stop by and learn more about the scholarship fund, volunteer opportunities, sponsorships, and the annual ACC Turkey Trot.

Thanks to the support of this incredible community, $9,000 in scholarships was awarded to local students in 2026. Every race registration, donation, sponsorship, and volunteer helps make opportunities like these possible.

"What equipment should I buy for my home gym?"

The fitness industry can make it feel like you need an entire room full of machines to get a great workout, but the truth is a few versatile pieces can go a long way.

Very excited to kick off the Ascend Community Clothing Exchange! 💛

Throughout June, we'll be collecting gently used workout clothing, athletic shoes, and fitness accessories right here at Ascend.

Have items you no longer wear? Bring them in. Looking for something new-to-you? Feel free to browse donated items throughout the month as well.

This project will lead into a community wellness event in late July featuring:
☕ Local Coffee Truck
💪 A donation-based community workout
🛍️ Local women-owned vendors

All proceeds from the workout and remaining clothing donations will be donated to the local women's shelter.

Donations can be dropped off anytime throughout June at Ascend Training & Wellness.

Good morning everyone 💛

Taking a moment today to acknowledge the meaning behind Memorial Day and the men and women who lost their lives in service, along with the families who continue carrying that loss 🇺🇸

All sessions are still running as scheduled today:
11:30 AM + 6:30 PM Weightlifting
7:30 PM Mobility

Also, tonight’s evening class and mobility session are open complimentary to any past clients wanting to come back in for a workout or anyone new who has been wanting to try a class out and see what Ascend is about.

Mother’s Day was yesterday, and it’s had me thinking a lot about how often we as women spend years taking care of everyone else while slowly disconnecting from our own bodies in the process.

Not always dramatically. Sometimes it just looks like constantly pushing through exhaustion, tension, stress, overstimulation, poor recovery, or never fully slowing down long enough to notice how disconnected you’ve started to feel physically.

So I wanted to share something healing and easy to follow.

I created a free guide called *The Ascend Morning Reset* - a gentle 20-minute mobility and breathwork routine designed to help reduce tension, improve mobility, support recovery, and create a slower, more grounded start to the day.

This guide is based on my personal morning ritual and daily mobility flow.

Inside are movements like:
• supine breathing
• qigong shakes
• lymphatic tapping
• spinal and hip mobility
• gentle nervous system support

No equipment needed.
No experience required.
Just a mat, twenty minutes, and the intention to slow down a little.

• Most classes are part of a structured program or ongoing membership, so we build consistency and maintainable results over time
• A confirmed sign-up is required so I can make sure everyone is included in communication and planning
• Active group members receive all updates, scheduling, and details directly from me

Your body is constantly responding to how you move, whether you realize it or not.

This is something I’ve been seeing more clearly in my pelvic floor and mobility classes lately. When women start moving with more intention, things shift quickly. Not just in strength, but in how their body actually feels day to day.

A big part of that comes back to fascia.

Fascia responds to your movement, your breath, and even your stress. It’s closely connected to your nervous system, which means how you move becomes input to your body, not just exercise. When movement is rushed, forced, or disconnected, your body holds onto tension.

When movement is intentional, supported, and controlled, things start to feel different. Lighter. More coordinated. More fluid. This is why mobility work matters so much when trying to improve your overall health and wellness.

It’s not just stretching. It’s how you restore communication within your body. The more you practice this, the more you realize you don’t need to do more. You just need to move with more awareness.

Most people don’t struggle with consistency because they’re lazy.

They struggle because their brain is wired for what’s familiar.

At the beginning, everything feels clear. You’re motivated. You show up.
And then a few weeks in… it gets harder.

That’s the moment most people stop.

Not because they’re incapable.
But because they’re still operating from old patterns.

Your brain will always try to pull you back to what it knows.

But every time you show up anyway, even when it feels inconvenient or uncomfortable, you start building something new.

A new pattern.
A new response.
A new way of moving through your day.

That’s neuroplasticity.

It’s not fast. It’s not dramatic.
But it’s how real, lasting change happens.

Don’t quit at the resistance.
That’s where your brain starts to change.

Most people think progress comes from doing more, intensely.

But your body actually changes when it has space to adapt
when your nervous system regulates, when your body can absorb the work you’ve been putting in.

This is an integral part of the work too.

It’s a big piece of what we’re focusing on right now in my mobility and pelvic floor sessions…
learning how to move better, not just harder.
