Please join us in welcoming Dr. Christopher Mantyh to Highlands Oncology!

Dr. Mantyh is a board-certified colorectal surgeon with decades of experience in advanced surgical care, clinical research, and academic leadership. He earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, completed his general surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center, and went on to fellowship training in colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles at Duke, including Chief of Colorectal Surgery, Vice Chief of Clinical Operations, and Chief of Quality for the Department of Surgery.

Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Mantyh enjoys cheering on the Packers and Badgers, as well as hiking, cooking, and traveling with his wife, Cindy. Together with their family and energetic German Shorthaired Pointer, they are excited to explore all that Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

Dr. Mantyh is a welcome addition to the Highlands team. We are excited about the wealth of expertise and passion he is bringing to our community!

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Akash Mukherjee to Highlands Oncology!
Dr. Mukherjee is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist with extensive experience treating both blood cancers and solid tumors. He brings specialized expertise in bone marrow transplantation, cellular therapies, and advanced immunotherapies, helping patients access some of the latest advances in cancer care.

His training includes a hematology-oncology fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital and advanced fellowship training in stem cell transplantation and cellular therapy at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Prior to joining Highlands, he served as Associate Medical Director of Hematology, Bone Marrow Transplantation, and Cellular Therapy at Oncology Hematology Care (OHC) in Cincinnati and previously served on faculty at UAMS.

Known for his clinical excellence, academic leadership, and compassionate approach to care, Dr. Mukherjee believes every patient deserves to be treated like family. He views medicine as his life's calling and is committed to giving his very best to each patient, no matter the complexity of their diagnosis.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2026 Lung Summit. It was an incredible day of collaboration, education, and important conversations focused on advancing lung cancer care and improving outcomes for patients across our region.

Thank you to our moderator, Dr. Eric Schaefer, and to our outstanding speakers, including Dr. James Counce, Dr. Mark Socinski, Dr. Ryan James, Dr. Suma Satti, Dr. Chris McClinton, Dr. Ashley Hickman and Dr. Greg Oakhill, for sharing their expertise and insights. We'd also like to thank students for their Neo-Adjuvant panel presentation. Together, their contributions helped make this event a valuable educational experience for healthcare professionals across the region.

We are excited to welcome Dr. Jamie Lee Aldakkour to Highlands Oncology!

As a board-certified hematologist and fellowship-trained medical oncologist, Dr. Aldakkour is dedicated to advancing patient care and improving outcomes through evidence-based medicine and compassionate support. Her work will be concentrated it serve the community of Mountain Home in partnership with Baxter Health.

Ron Peterson, President and CEO of Baxter Health, spoke to what Dr. Aldakkour's addition means for cancer patients in the region. "Baxter Health and Highlands Oncology are committed to building world-class cancer care right here in Mountain Home, and Dr. Aldakkour is a meaningful part of that effort," Peterson said. "She is an exceptional physician, and her presence here means patients in this region can face a cancer diagnosis knowing that outstanding care is available close to home. We are very glad to welcome her to our team."
