Med Team 3 hiking up with crews again. Staying somewhat close by the hotshots is crucial in this type of terrain. It could take an hour+ to get to them otherwise if something goes wrong. Losing that golden hour because of placement is not an option.

Med Team 2 is on yet another fire in New Mexico. The Frijoles Fire, burning in steep country again with high elevation. Currently at 15000+ acres with some extreme fire behavior and trees torching. Crews are working hard to get through the terrain but it is proving difficult. Med Team 2 has been hiking in along side the hotshot crews multiple days.

Med Team 3 hiked in again with Craig Hotshots, while they cut line in very steep terrain to connect a dozer line. For reference this was a 1.2 mile hike with a winding trail and over 1000 ft of elevation gain and loss to get off the mountain. Where the crews are working and Med Team 3 is following, the hand line being made is .3-.5 miles as the crow flies for that same elevation gain.

Med Team 2 continues to provide REMS Type 1 medical support on the Widemouth 2 Fire near Fishlake National Forest in Utah.

When our team arrived, the fire was approximately 7,200 acres. Since then, rapid fire growth has pushed the incident to more than 100,000 acres, with significant fire activity occurring each day.

Med Team 3, as a REMS type 1 has started their roll with firing ops on another remote wildfire in Utah. Black Canyon Fire started as 200 acres when we got the call, and has grown to over 2500 acres in a couple of days. Strong winds are pushing the fire through the canopies.
