Residents and family members enjoyed a festive fall market at Wooded Glen, complete with apple dumplings à la mode, a hot cocoa bar, popcorn, cotton candy, entertainment, and apple c***r slushies. The fun continued into happy hour!

Did you know that every 13 seconds an older adult is treated in the ER for a fall?

Don’t let a fall become part of your harvest.

At Wooded Glen, we want you to stay safe, stay steady and enjoy the fall season. That is why on the first official day of fall, September 22nd, we kicked off our Falls Prevention event.

The therapy gym was active as residents worked on gait and balance while collecting eggs from the coop, bobbing for apples and roping a horse. The barnyard fun continued as residents and staff spent time with feathered friends. Our fall farm fun extended with games including farm word searches, finding eggs with fall prevention questions hidden inside and taking your chance at a guessing game while you “named that plants/vegetables/fruit”. Fall risk assessments were also available for anyone that stopped in the therapy gym.

We continued our Falls Prevention activities during our monthly Synchrony GOLD in-service. This informative in-service provided education including “Balance For Life: Simple Steps to Prevent Falls”.

Falls Prevention fun carried on with our monthly Employee Recognition party including a “Falls Prevention” room where staff had to detect 10 things that could cause a potential fall.

Don’t be part of the 1 in 5 people that have a fall resulting in a head injury or broken bone.

Our Independent Living residents enjoyed a Taste of Asia at Wooded Glen! They prepared fresh ingredients, made homemade crab Rangoon's and created festive table decorations. A special menu and Shen Yun dance performance brought everyone together for a memorable evening with all community members in attendance. 🥢

At Wooded Glen, we believe celebrating our team is key to our community’s success🎉. From our monthly ER3 sessions to Kirsten & Brett’s snack breaks, our staff truly means everything to us❤️. Our back-to-school event was a wonderful occasion to welcome our new Executive Director, Erika, and Director of Food Service, Chef Mike👩‍💼👨‍🍳. We also honored our beloved Oh Great One, Deepali, for providing exceptional care to our residents💐.

Today, Marilyn experienced a Spa Tastic Live a Dream. She was treated to a VIP spa day at Blossom Nail Spa with a relaxing mani, Pedi, and massage. She enjoyed a delicious lunch at Red Lobster and was surprised with a beautifully decorated room when she returned home. Moments like these remind us of the importance of caring and celebrating our residents. 💆‍♀️✨
