" Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): After reviewing nearly 300,000 functional brain scans related to behavior it is clear that head injuries are a leading cause of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, PTSD, ADHD/ADD, substance abuse, psychosis, borderline and antisocial personality disorders, dementia, and aggression. Concussions and TBIs also increase the risk of su***de. When the brain has functional damage due to a head injury, it’s critical to heal the brain in order to overcome any mental health problems."

Concussions, whiplash, and continuing softer bumps and bruises to the head all add up and can cause much more damage than a goose egg. Don't let these injuries add up to self harm. Please seek help!

See a doctor. Get imaging. Get rest.
And we're here to help too. At Cereset we see positive improvements sometimes even after just the first session.

But please. Don't just wait for this to get better on its own. Especially if it's not the first incident. Seek help before it develops into something much worse.

September is Su***de Prevention Month. After being a Psychiatrist for over 40 years, it's clear to me that suicidal thoughts and brains work differently.

Amen Clinics has scanned hundreds of patients who have attempted su***de and many more who have thought about taking their own life. The SPECT scans of these patients revealed abnormalities in the brain, especially in these areas:
* Temporal Lobes: Brain SPECT imaging shows that people with suicidal thoughts and su***de attempts often have abnormalities in the left temporal lobe. In an Amen Clinics study, we saw left temporal lobe problems in 62 percent of our patients who had serious suicidal thoughts or behaviors.
* Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI): After reviewing nearly 300,000 functional brain scans related to behavior it is clear that head injuries are a leading cause of mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety disorders, panic disorder, PTSD, ADHD/ADD, substance abuse, psychosis, borderline and antisocial personality disorders, dementia, and aggression. Concussions and TBIs also increase the risk of su***de. When the brain has functional damage due to a head injury, it’s critical to heal the brain in order to overcome any mental health problems. At Amen Clinics, 40 percent of our patients have had a significant brain injury.
* Prefrontal Cortex: A large-scale study by researchers at Portland State University found that about 22 percent of people who died by su***de were legally intoxicated at the time of their death. Brain scans show that alcohol lowers function in the prefrontal cortex, a brain region involved in impulse control, judgment, and decision-making.
* Anterior Cingulate Gyrus: People with overactivity in this area of the brain tend to get stuck on negative thoughts, which is one of the traits we see in people with suicidal thoughts and behavior.

Trauma doesn’t come in just one form and it doesn’t always leave visible scars.

How many types of trauma do you recognize in your own life? It could be recent or so long ago you hadn't even learned to speak yet. There are very few people out there who have not endured trauma of some kind. But it is possible to release stuck stress patterns and live a life that is not stuck in survival mode.

At Cereset, we help your brain observe the stuck patterns and your brain does the rest of the work itself - releasing stress as the brain balances. And the result is feeling better, feeling new, and feeling alive without constant hypervigilance.

The ability to grasp information and process it more quickly is something that we regularly hear about here. It's great for kids at school and for adults at work!

🎓 "I finally feel like I've unlocked the full potential of my intelligence."

When LK first experienced Cereset years ago in high school and college, she noticed meaningful benefits. But after completing Cereset Network Flow, she says the difference has been unlike anything she's experienced before.

Here's her story in her own words:

"I'm a HUGE supporter of Cereset Network Flow. I've had Cereset sessions in previous years while in high school and getting my college degree, but this is the first time I feel like I've unlocked the full potential of my intelligence.

I didn't realize people could memorize information so easily because it was impossible for me to memorize facts without mnemonic techniques. Now, I am able to look at information a few times and know it. It's amazing!

My grades in my postgraduate classes have improved significantly since having Cereset Network Flow mid-semester. Two of my current classes are based on four test grades. In the first class, my test average went from 75.5% in the first half of the semester to a 96% test average in the second half. In the second class, my test average improved from 78% to 86%.

I will be having tune-ups as needed to help with stress and keep my brain thinking as clearly as it is right now!"

Mackenzie just graduated high school and suffered two concussions playing softball. This left her with the inability to sleep, extremely painful headaches, brain fog, and fatigue. Within five Network Flow sessions at Cereset she was sleeping through the night, had zero headaches, improved memory and energy enough to help her friend bale hay! If you're having symptoms from a concussion please call Cereset in Springfield at 417-616-7802 to see how we can support your healing.

Have you ever noticed that when you're stressed, your mind suddenly starts imagining the worst-case scenario?

That's because your brain is designed to protect you, not necessarily to provide an objective interpretation of every situation. When your brain perceives a threat—whether it's physical, emotional, or social—it naturally becomes more vigilant, scanning for anything that could confirm danger.

This is an incredible survival mechanism... but it can also lead to distorted thinking when we're overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted, or under chronic stress.

The good news? You don't have to believe every thought simply because you had it.

Instead of accepting your first thought as fact, pause and get curious. Ask yourself:
🧠 Is this a fact or an interpretation?
🧠 Am I thinking in extremes?
🧠 Am I trying to predict the future?
🧠 Is this thought helping me?
🧠 Could there be another explanation?

These simple questions can help you create space between your thoughts and your response.

Remember: Thoughts are not always facts. Sometimes they're simply your brain trying to protect you.

What question do you find most helpful when you're caught in a spiral of negative thinking?
