Well, this is pretty special…..

I’m incredibly honored to share that I’ve been nominated for Illinois Times Best of Springfield 2026— Best Yoga Instructor!

After nearly a decade of teaching yoga in this community, my work has evolved quite a bit over the last few years. These days, much of my work happens one-on-one— both through Somatic Experiencing® and the 1:1 private yoga sessions I now offer regularly. I may not be standing at the front of packed yoga classes nearly as often anymore, but yoga is still very much a part of who I am, how I serve, and how I got here.

The practice has evolved. The heart of it never changed.

So to be nominated again, especially during this chapter of my career, means more to me than I can really put into words.

Runoff voting begins September 10 and runs through September 21, and I’ll share the voting link once it officially opens.

If my classes, workshops, private sessions, practices, or teaching have been part of your life somewhere along the way, I’d be incredibly grateful for your vote.

And to everyone who has practiced with me, trusted me, supported my work, or continued right alongside me as it has grown and changed— thank you.

What an amazing journey this has been.

Sometimes the body doesn’t need to be worked on. Sometimes it simply needs to be met…….

For the past year and a half, one of the most requested services in my practice hasn’t been Somatic Experiencing sessions.

It hasn’t been yoga.

It hasn’t even been workshops.

It’s been Somatic Supportive Touch.

In fact, demand has grown so steadily that I’m currently booked out until September… which is exactly why I wanted to talk about it today. If you’ve been curious, now is the time to reserve your spot.

So… what is it???

Think of it as living somewhere in the space between NeuroAffective Touch, scratch therapy, gentle body-based regulation work, and certain energy work modalities. It’s a quiet, deeply supportive experience designed to help your nervous system shift out of survival mode and into a state where rest, regulation, and healing become most accessible.

Clients remain clothed throughout the entire session while I use slow, intentional supportive touch, optional guided awareness or visualization, and sound to help your body settle into a deeper state of regulation. Many people describe it as profoundly calming and unlike anything they’ve experienced before.

People often schedule these sessions while navigating:
✨ Chronic stress and burnout
✨ Grief and loss
✨ Anxiety
✨ Emotional overwhelm
✨ Life transitions
✨ Recovery from illness
✨ The simple need to feel grounded again

Just as importantly… here’s what it is NOT.

This is not massage therapy, and I am not a licensed massage therapist. There is no massage, deep muscle manipulation, or therapeutic massage techniques involved.

Instead, this is somatic bodywork rooted in nervous system regulation, co-regulation, and gentle supportive touch. The intention isn’t to “fix” muscles— it’s to help your body rediscover a greater sense of safety, ease, and connection. It’s deeply soothing, relaxing touch.

If you’ve been hearing people mention these sessions and wondering what all the fuss is about… now you know!

And as I always have, for the past decade, I’d love to support you!

Quick scheduling update!—

I’ve been booked through the end of August (thank you!!), but I just opened up a handful of additional appointment times.

If you’ve been waiting to book, I’d recommend grabbing a spot sooner rather than later— they tend to fill pretty quickly once they open.

As always, all appointments must be booked through Vagaro— I’m not able to reserve spots through Facebook messages or text.

I’m so grateful for the trust you continue to place in me and for helping this little practice grow. Looking forward to seeing many of you soon!

I’m not currently accepting new clients, but I’d love to connect and fill people in, as to what it is that my private practice offers (hint: not just SE).

All are welcome to reach out, always. 🙏🏼

Ashley here, with an important update—

Going forward, all appointments must be made through Vagaro by the client (or in-person, if there’s a card on file). We’re moving towards the 2-year mark for this small-but-mighty business and I am finally establishing the best ways to ensure client/practitioner well-being remains top priority.

Scheduling your appointments through the scheduling app ensures your session is secured AND that you receive your email reminder, avoids double-booking, prevents scheduling mistakes, and makes certain I am crossing my t’s and dotting my i’s for tax purposes. It’s just a must, as far as keeping this small business sustainable and your practitioner following best practices.

Thank you all for your continued support, I still can’t believe we’ve grown a landing space for Somatic Experiencing in Springfield, Illinois. So proud and grateful!

All appointments should be reserved here (last bit I’ll mention, I am currently booked out 6-weeks, so please sign up ahead of time to secure your session):

I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head around how much Whole Self Healing has grown lately….

What started as a few group yoga classes has blossomed into something so much bigger and more meaningful than I ever imagined, and I truly couldn’t have done it without this incredible community. Your trust, support, referrals, encouragement, and willingness to show up for yourselves in such vulnerable and powerful ways means everything to me.

As the practice continues to grow, I also want to gently share that session availability is becoming more limited, with many appointments currently booking 6–8 weeks in advance.

I never want that to feel discouraging or unwelcoming— it’s simply a reflection of how many people are seeking healing, nervous system support, and safe spaces to land right now. I’m committed to serving each person with presence and care, which also means honoring my own capacity and avoiding burnout.

If you’ve been thinking about booking, I definitely recommend planning ahead when possible and giving yourself grace with the timing. I’m so deeply grateful for your patience, your support, and your belief in this work.

Thank you for continuing to pour love into this small business and helping it grow in such a beautiful, aligned way. Every session booked, every kind word shared, every referral, every class attended— it all truly means more than I can say.
