💙 FROM HOMETOWN IMPACT TO KENTUCKY IMPACT 💙

We are incredibly grateful to have served as the August sponsor for the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce luncheon and to have had the opportunity to share not only where Hometown Health System is today—but the much bigger vision behind where we are going.

At Hometown, we believe healthcare cannot exist in a silo.

A prescription alone doesn’t solve transportation.
A clinic visit alone doesn’t create employment.
Treatment alone doesn’t guarantee long-term recovery.
And none of these systems can succeed without stable families, strong employers, and healthy communities.

That is why we are intentionally building an ecosystem of care that connects healthcare, pharmacy, behavioral health, substance use recovery, social support, workforce development, education, and community partnerships.

Our goal is bigger than expanding healthcare services.

We want to help build healthier people who can build stronger families, stronger businesses, stronger communities—and ultimately a stronger Kentucky economy.

🤝 One of the partnerships we are especially proud to continue expanding is our work alongside the Kentucky Chamber Foundation.

Their commitment to bringing business, workforce, education, recovery, and community leaders together aligns directly with what we believe at Hometown: some of Kentucky’s greatest challenges cannot be solved by one organization, one industry, or one program.

They require an ecosystem.

Through partnerships like this, we can create a continuum that looks very different:

Healthcare → Recovery → Stability → Employment → Economic Independence → Stronger Families → Stronger Communities

That is the return on investment we want to help produce for Kentucky.

When someone can access healthcare before a condition becomes a crisis, there is economic value.

When someone in recovery is supported in returning to the workforce, there is economic value.

When an employer can hire and retain a dependable employee, there is economic value.

When a parent becomes healthier, employed, and more stable, the impact reaches their children and the next generation.

And when rural and underserved communities have access to the infrastructure they need to thrive, all of Kentucky becomes stronger.

The Kentucky Chamber Foundation’s work demonstrates what is possible when employers and community partners lead together. Its initiatives span all 120 Kentucky counties and focus on workforce development, education, opportunity, and addressing barriers that keep Kentuckians from fully participating in our economy.

For Hometown Health System, this partnership represents an opportunity to connect the healthcare side of the equation with the workforce and economic-development side—creating pathways that do more than treat a diagnosis. We want to help people move forward.

We were also honored to hear from leaders of the Kentucky Chamber Foundation and share this conversation with our hometown business community. The room represented exactly what this work requires: healthcare leaders, employers, educators, nonprofits, local businesses, community advocates, and people willing to work together.

🏡 This is the heart of Hometown Health System.

We may start in one hometown, but we are building a model that can strengthen communities across the Commonwealth.

Healthy people build healthy communities.
Healthy communities build strong workforces.
Strong workforces build strong economies.

And when we connect those pieces intentionally, the return is measured in much more than dollars—it is measured in lives changed, families strengthened, businesses supported, and communities given the opportunity to thrive.

Thank you to the Campbellsville/Taylor County Chamber of Commerce, the Kentucky Chamber Foundation, our Hometown team, our community partners, and every person who continues to believe in this vision.

We are just getting started.

There’s something special about being cared for by people who are part of the same communities you call home. 💙
Our Hometown Health System team lives here, works here, raises families here, and cares deeply about the people we serve. Here are just a few of our pharmacist serving across Campbellsville and Springfield pharmacy locations who were born and raise right here in Central Kentucky.
As we continue to grow, our mission stays simple: provide trusted, personal care while strengthening the communities around us. Healthy people build healthy communities.
We’re proud to be hometown — and even prouder to serve yours.

THURSDAY TRUTH: Alpha-gal syndrome is more than a “red meat allergy.” 🩺

Alpha-gal syndrome (AGS) is a potentially serious allergy that can develop after a tick bite. Reactions can vary significantly from person to person and may occur after exposure to mammalian meat or other products containing alpha-gal. (cdc.gov)

And here’s the part many people don’t realize:

Your medication list matters, too.

Some medications, vaccines, supplements, capsules, and medical products may contain mammal-derived ingredients such as gelatin, glycerin, magnesium stearate, or bovine-derived components. That does not mean every person with alpha-gal will react to every one of these ingredients—but it does mean your healthcare team needs to know about your diagnosis and reaction history. (cdc.gov)

This Thursday, we’re encouraging patients with known or suspected alpha-gal to talk with both their healthcare provider AND pharmacist about:

• Previous reactions and how severe they were
• Prescription and OTC medications
• Supplements and inactive ingredients
• Vaccines
• Gelatin-containing capsules or products
• Medical or surgical products derived from mammals
• Whether an emergency allergy plan is appropriate
• Preventing future tick bites

Your pharmacist is one of your best resources for looking beyond the name of a medication and into what is actually inside it.

Alpha-gal care should be individualized. Some people tolerate products that others cannot, so avoiding everything “just in case” is not necessarily the answer. The goal is to understand your risk, your triggers, and your safest options with your healthcare team. (cdc.gov, cdc.gov)

📚💙 Back to School. Back to Community. Building the Future of Healthcare.

As students across our communities head back to the classroom, Hometown Health System is celebrating both the children preparing for a new school year and the future healthcare professionals preparing to care for them for years to come.

Through our pharmacy student preceptor program, we are proud to serve as a clinical training site for Doctor of Pharmacy candidates from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy and Sullivan University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. These future pharmacists gain hands-on experience that extends far beyond the pharmacy counter—from direct patient care and medication management to pharmacy operations, community health initiatives, immunization education, and population health.

One of the most meaningful parts of that work is helping families prepare for a healthy school year. 💉📚

Back-to-school immunizations are an important part of protecting not only our children, but their classmates, teachers, families, and the communities they call home. Our pharmacy team can help families review immunization needs and provide available back-to-school vaccines so students can begin the year healthy, protected, and ready to learn.

And as healthcare professionals, parents, neighbors, and members of these communities, our hope for this school year extends beyond healthcare.

🙏 We pray for every student walking into a new classroom.
🙏 For the teachers, administrators, bus drivers, coaches, and staff entrusted with their care.
🙏 For safety in every classroom, hallway, playground, and school bus.
🙏 For wisdom, kindness, confidence, and opportunities that prepare our children not only for the next grade—but to become the future leaders of our hometowns.

At Hometown, investing in the next generation happens on both sides of the classroom: supporting the children growing up in our communities and mentoring the healthcare professionals who will one day care for them.

Stronger together. Healthier tomorrows.

💚 Beyond the Pharmacy Counter

There was never anything wrong with being “just a pharmacy.”

In fact, community pharmacies have been the heartbeat of hometowns for generations.

But over the years, we witnessed something that changed us.

We watched patients leave with the right medication, yet continue to struggle because of barriers that medicine alone couldn’t solve.

Some needed primary care.
Others needed behavioral health services.
Some needed transportation.
Others needed recovery support, care coordination, or simply someone willing to help them navigate an overwhelming healthcare system.

That’s when we realized…

The future of healthcare isn’t about doing more.
It’s about working together.

That vision is why Hometown Pharmacy grew into Hometown Health System.

A multidisciplinary healthcare system built around one simple belief:

Healthy people build healthy communities.

By bringing together pharmacists, physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health professionals, care coordinators, community health workers, and trusted community partners, we’re creating a healthcare model that looks beyond symptoms and focuses on the whole person.

Because protecting the future of our hometowns means investing in the people who call them home.

It’s about helping children grow up healthier.

Supporting families through life’s challenges.

Helping older adults age with dignity.

Strengthening the workforce.

Expanding access to care in rural and underserved communities.

And ensuring that future generations have thriving hometowns they’re proud to call home.

This has never been about building a larger company.

It’s about building stronger communities.

One patient.

One family.

One partnership.

One hometown at a time.

💚 Hometown Health System
Building Healthier People. Strengthening Healthier Communities.

💙 Truth Thursday 💙

Have you ever wondered what really happens after your doctor sends a prescription to the pharmacy?

Many people think filling a prescription simply means putting pills in a bottle. In reality, every prescription goes through a detailed clinical and safety process before it ever reaches your hands.

Our pharmacists evaluate:
✔ Is this the correct medication?
✔ Is the dose appropriate?
✔ Will it interact with your other medications?
✔ Is it safe based on your medical conditions?
✔ Is it covered by your insurance?
✔ Is there a more affordable option?
✔ Do we need to contact your provider before dispensing?

Every prescription is reviewed with one goal in mind:
Keeping you safe.

Behind every bottle is a team of highly trained healthcare professionals working to prevent medication errors, improve outcomes, and make sure you understand your treatment.

We’re honored to be part of your healthcare team—not just when you’re sick, but every day.

💚 Thank you for trusting Hometown Pharmacy with your family’s care.
