For more than three decades, Dr. Susan Laduzinsky has been there for patients during some of the most personal and difficult moments of their lives. Now, the people who have worked alongside her are honoring the impact she has made on them, too.
As a WashU Medicine assistant professor and physician at Siteman Cancer Center at Memorial Hospital Shiloh, Dr. Laduzinsky has cared for patients at Memorial Hospital since 1990. She says the people around her are a big part of what has made Memorial feel like home.
โOur staff is very caring and professional," she shared. "They are always willing to do what needs to be done and go the extra mile in order to take great care of our patients.โ
For Dr Laduzinsky, caring for patients is about more than just their medical needs. She says the trust patients place in her is on of the most meaningful parts of her work.
โEvery moment I have with patients is special,โ Dr. Laduzinsky said. โFor them to confide in me with the most personal aspects of their life is incredibly meaningful to me.โ
In recognition of her years of service and the lives she has touched, a butterfly sculpture was recently dedicated in her honor in the Siteman Healing Garden, made possible through gifts to the Memorial Foundation.
โIt is truly an honor to have the butterfly sculpture dedicated to me,โ she said. โIโm humbled to think that my staff thinks that highly of me. I am grateful for the privilege to participate in the care of our patients.โ
Thank you, Dr. Laduzinsky, for your years of service to Memorial Hospital and our patients! ๐ฆ ๐
