WHY CAPSULE, LIQUID, OR CREAM?

💊 CAPSULES
Taken by mouth and absorbed through the digestive system. Capsules can be useful when a specific prescribed strength is needed in a convenient oral form.

💧 LIQUIDS
Can allow for customized concentrations and measured doses. They may also be an option when swallowing capsules or tablets is difficult.

🧴 CREAMS
Applied to the skin. Certain medications may be compounded for topical use when that route is appropriate for the medication and the patient.

Why does compounding offer different forms?
Because how a medication is delivered can affect how it is used and absorbed. The appropriate dosage form depends on the medication, the treatment goal, and the individual patient.

A prescriber and pharmacist can work together to determine an appropriate formulation based on the prescription.
