☀️ SUMMER WELLNESS SERIES | Topic 2: Smart Habits to Keep You Out of the Clinic 🏃♂️🛡️
Summer is all about making memories, staying active, and enjoying the great outdoors. But nothing derails summer fun faster than an unexpected, preventable trip to the doctor’s office.
At HealthHub, we want you to spend your time on the water or at the park, not in a waiting room! Here are 4 practical, everyday habits to keep you and your family safe, healthy, and thriving all season long:
🩹 Prep an Outdoor First-Aid Kit: Be ready for minor bumps, scrapes, and bug bites before you leave the house. Keeping a small kit in your car or backpack prevents minor cuts from turning into major infections.
🧴 Don't Skimp on the SPF: Sunburns do more than just sting—severe burns can cause dehydration, chills, and fever (often called "sun poisoning"). Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating.
👟 Support Your Feet: Summer is prime time for foot and ankle injuries. Flip-flops are great for the pool, but swap them out for supportive sneakers if you’re hiking, playing backyard sports, or walking long distances.
👀 Listen to Your Body’s Baseline: Don't try to "push through" sudden fatigue, muscle cramps, or dizziness. Taking a 10-minute break in the shade now can save you a trip to the doctor later.
Let's prioritize preventative health so we can keep the summer momentum going strong!
