From tonight's reading: Successfully navigating the twists and turns of life while fixing our eyes on Jesus requires a spiritual strategy with four steps:

-We need to first learn how to stop looking back and start looking to Jesus.
-We need to invite Jesus in to help us get unstuck from those places where we never meant to be.
-We need to start moving forward in a way that ensures we’re successfully pursuing all the plans, purpose and promises God has for our lives.
-What’s more, we need to learn how to do all this repeatedly in every area of our lives all throughout our lives, because new challenges will present themselves. Jesus said they would, but he also told us how to move through what life would throw our way.

From my reading tonight: God does not asked us for perfection. He ask us to love Him, follow Jesus, and to be made in His likeness, which will, one day, be perfection when we are reunited with Him.

We are asked for surrender, obedience, faith, submission, and devotion. When we fall short, the way forward is not by running from God but running to Him and repenting from the thing that veers us away from Him. It's in the return to Christ that restoration and redemption can be found.

Step 1: Do not run and hide in shame but to move toward admittance and accountability
Step 2 Ask for forgiveness
Step 3 forgive yourself and move onward with a change of heart and behavior ---

this is how we move into maturity in Christ and allow love to cover a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8).

December reading plan:

Book of Luke!
Read one chapter daily starting today until Christmas Eve.
(Against my better judgment because I want everyone in their BIBLEs this month not digital .. I'm adding 2 other ways to read!)

- Luke provides: the events of Christ's life in chronological order
- teaches us: Jesus—fully God and fully human—moves among the people in compassion to free them from oppression
