Over 6 million car accidents happen every year in the U.S. — and more than 2.4 million people are injured. What doesn’t always make headlines: how many of those crashes leave someone with a concussion.

You don’t need a dramatic, high-speed crash for it to happen. Even a fender-bender can do it. And because concussions don’t always show up right away — no visible injury, no cast, nothing dramatic — they’re easy to write off as just being “shaken up.”

If it’s been a few days (or a few weeks) since your accident and something still feels off — headaches, fog, trouble reading, dizziness, sensitivity to light — you’re not imagining it. Caught early, concussions often heal really well.
We wrote a full breakdown of symptoms, what to expect, and when to get checked out — link in bio.

With a concussion, breaks aren't a sign of weakness they're part of recovery. Plan them before you're overwhelmed.

Why is processing information so hard after a brain injury?

When the brain’s pathways are disrupted, it has to find new ways to process information and those pathways aren’t always the most efficient.

The good news? Neuroplasticity means the brain can adapt, learn, and build new pathways.

“Return to learn” is a planned process that helps students ease back into school with the right support and accommodations.

Extra time on assignments and tests can help, but students with concussion symptoms may also be using a lot more mental energy just to keep up.

They may also need:
• Shortened assignments
• Simplified assignments
• Reduced workload
• More breaks
• Other individualized supports

Recovery looks different for everyone. The goal is to support the brain and make the return to learning more manageable.

TMS helps create the opportunity for the brain to rebuild stronger neural connections. Then, NCX Brain Recovery’s personalized therapies help those pathways become functional. This trains the brain in ways that are unique to each person’s recovery journey.
