This patient is 48 years old and a mom of four who breastfed all four of her babies 🤍

She started with a deflated 34B and wanted to restore the volume she had lost over time. We used 480cc Mentor BOOST High Profile implants with a dual-plane technique.

Immediately after Breast Augmentation, implants often sit higher on the chest and can look tighter or more firm than the final result. That’s completely expected early in the healing process.

6 months post Breast Augmentation ✨

For this patient, we selected 340cc Motiva Ergonomix implants in a Demi profile, placed over the muscle to create an enhancement tailored to her anatomy and aesthetic goals.

But what do those numbers actually mean? 👇

340cc refers to the volume of the implant. Choosing an implant isn’t simply about picking a number - it’s about finding the right combination of volume, width, projection, and implant type for the patient’s chest dimensions and desired result.

Demi profile describes the implant’s projection, or how far the implant extends outward from the chest. Motiva’s Demi projection is considered a moderate-low projection, making it an option for patients looking for added volume without as much forward projection as a Full or Corsé profile.

Motiva Ergonomix was designed to mimic the look, feel, and movement of natural breast tissue. Its gel is designed to adapt with the body - creating a rounder appearance when lying down and a more natural teardrop shape when standing.

And then there’s implant placement. This patient’s implants were placed over the muscle, also known as subglandular placement. We consider your existing breast tissue, anatomy, lifestyle, goals, and desired aesthetic when determining which approach is appropriate for you.

At 6 months, she’s well into the settling process. Breast Augmentation results continue to evolve as swelling resolves and the implants settle into their final position.

A Breast Augmentation and Breast Lift are two different procedures that can work together to address both volume and position.

Breast Augmentation uses an implant to increase breast volume and improve fullness, particularly in the upper portion of the breast. A Breast Lift, or mastopexy, reshapes and elevates the existing breast tissue by removing excess skin and repositioning the ni**le-areola complex when needed.

For patients who have both loss of volume and breast ptosis (drooping), combining the procedures can create a more balanced result than either procedure alone. The surgical plan is highly individualized based on factors such as breast anatomy, skin quality, ni**le position, and the patient’s desired size and shape.

The implant adds volume and fullness, while the lift addresses excess skin and reshapes the existing breast tissue to create a higher, more youthful position. Together, these procedures allow us to address both volume and shape rather than relying on an implant to do both jobs.

Another important part of her surgical plan was implant placement. One of the most common questions I hear during a Breast Augmentation consultation is:
“What size implant should I get?”

The answer isn’t as simple as choosing a cup size or picking a number from a chart. A natural, proportionate result starts with understanding your anatomy.

During your consultation, we evaluate factors like your:
• Breast width
• Existing breast tissue
• Skin quality and elasticity
• Chest wall anatomy
• Breast position and symmetry
• Overall body proportions
• Desired level of fullness

From there, we can determine the implant volume, profile, and placement that best align with your anatomy and goals.
Implant profile is particularly important. Two implants can have the same volume but very different dimensions and projection.

We also consider implant placement. Depending on your anatomy, tissue coverage, lifestyle, and desired outcome, an implant may be placed above or below the muscle, or in another appropriate surgical plane.

There is no universal “perfect” implant. The right choice is the one that makes sense for you.
