While a Breast Augmentation can restore fullness and enhance volume, it does not correct breast sagging on its own. A Breast Lift can reposition the breast and ni**le to a more youthful location, but it does not add volume to the upper portion of the breast. When these procedures are combined, we can address both simultaneously.

A Breast Lift (Mastopexy) removes excess skin, reshapes the breast tissue, and elevates the ni**le-ar**lar complex to a more youthful position. Breast Augmentation utilizes implants to restore volume and improve fullness, particularly in the upper portion of the breast where volume loss is commonly seen. Together, these procedures create a more balanced, youthful, and proportional breast shape while maintaining a natural appearance.

✨Understanding the “Drop and Fluff” Process✨

These progression photos demonstrate what we often refer to as the “drop and fluff” process - the natural evolution that occurs during healing after Breast Augmentation surgery.
In the weeks immediately following surgery, it is completely normal for breast implants to appear higher on the chest, feel firmer than expected, and look somewhat compressed or tight. This occurs because the body is responding to surgery with swelling, and the chest muscles and surrounding tissues are still adjusting to the presence of the implants.

As healing progresses, several important changes occur. The swelling gradually decreases, the tissues begin to relax, and the implants settle into a more natural position within the breast pocket. This is the “drop” portion of the process. At the same time, the lower portion of the breast begins to fill out and soften as the tissues adapt around the implant, which is commonly referred to as the “fluff” phase.

The timeline for this process varies from patient to patient. Factors such as implant size, implant placement, tissue characteristics, muscle tightness, and individual healing patterns all play a role. Some patients notice significant changes within a few months, while others continue to see subtle improvements for six months, a year, or even longer.
These progression photos are an excellent example of why patience is so important after breast augmentation. What may appear high, firm, or overly projected early in recovery often evolves beautifully as the body heals. By the six-month mark, the implants have typically settled significantly, the breasts feel softer, and the overall shape appears more natural and balanced.
