Full Moon Kundalini Practice

Today is the first full moon of the month πŸŒ• We have a second full moon at the end of the month on May 31. Two full moons in one month is rare. When the 2nd full moon occurs, it is called a "Blue Moon". This is where the term "Once in a Blue Moon comes from!

In Vedic astrology, there is a lot of Vāyu, or wind in the celestials right now. This Vāyu is not a light breeze 🌬 Maybe not tsunami level winds, but you've likely been feeling some turbulence in your life, or maybe "winds of change", or breathing life into a new endeavor.

This Kundalni practice tempers the winds that manifest as swirling thoughts in the mind or stirring energy moving through the body. This practice anchors you in the breath and centers you in the eye where the chi becomes balanced.

Are you in control of the wind or does the wind have control of you?

Are you overwhelmed by skincare & find it intimidating like me?

This kept me paralyzed to choose what brands & products to use, while my skin was going downhill...and FAST!

After I moved away from Costa Rica, I lost my tan and saw my real skin. I was devastated. And sooo MAD at myself‼️ How could I let this happen! I truly thought it was too late and the damage was irreversible.

News Flash 🚨 There is no πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ "Perfect Breath"

There are some optimal ways to breathe. But let's not over complicate this & keep it niiiice & simple

Optimal Breath ➑️ Inhale & Exhale through the nose. Aiming for a diaphragmatic breath - but not just distending the belly. Consciously pull the breath to the diaphragm, which will also flare the rib cage at the end of the inhale. Putting your hands flat against the bottom sides of your ribs can help focus the breath & expansion here. If a visual helps, imagine a balloon expanding and contracting🎈

🌬 Give it a try πŸ’¨:

Inhale through the nose for a count of 4
Brief pause at the top of the inhale
Exhale through the nose for a count of 4
Brief pause at the bottom of the exhale

Repeat & gradually increase the counts of the inhale & exhale.

✨️ Extra tips ✨️

βœ…οΈ If it feels good, exhale a few times through the mouth with an audible "sigh". This helps stimulate the vagus nerve which stokes the parasympathetic nervous system even more, calming the mind & body

βœ…οΈ You can also extend the exhale for an extra count or two longer than the inhale. This also signals the parasympathetic nervous system to chill out
