Spotlight on Jason Wang, Pharm. D. ‘11 🌟

Since joining our Alumni Council in 2020, Jason has passionately advocated for the pharmacy profession. He states, "Keeping alumni engaged gives us an opportunity to shape the future of our profession as it inevitably evolves with the changing landscape of healthcare.”

As an independent pharmacy owner and co-owner of others in the St. Louis area, and a Board of Trustees member and preceptor at the university, Jason is dedicated to fostering leadership that fights for provider status and enhances patient services. He believes collaborations between students and alumni are crucial for showcasing pharmacists’ value in healthcare and their community impact.

Jason’s vision? To empower the profession to grow and prosper. Thank you, Jason, for being an essential part of our community! 💊✨

Our alumni are changing lives, advancing healthcare, and making a difference around the world.

Help us celebrate their accomplishments by submitting a nomination for a Distinguished Alumni Award. This is your chance to shine a spotlight on a graduate whose achievements deserve recognition. Award recipients will be recognized during the 2026 Reunion Celebration on Nov. 7.

As a member of the Alumni Council since 2018, Kristi inspires with her motto: "Work hard, be deliberate in your decisions, and have fun along the way.”

Currently serving as the Director of Outpatient Pharmacy Services & 340B Program Compliance in Kansas City, she actively supports students as a preceptor, guiding them through real-world challenges in pharmacy. Kristi’s vision? To take patient care to the next level through innovation.

🌟 Spotlight on Rande Hempen, B.S. ‘96, Pharm. D. ‘97

Rande has been an active member of our Alumni Council since 2018 and currently serves as Co-Chair. He shared, “Teaching the next generation has been incredibly rewarding. I’d be honored to represent the Alumni Council and collaborate with students and administration.”

Now a Clinical Pharmacist, Rande is dedicated to patient care and serves as a preceptor with the university, as well as a member of the Mortar and Pestle Society. Rande's vision? “To see my former students and all the people I’ve seen come through this school thrive and embrace new opportunities in pharmacy.”
