Today I had to be in two places at once because I had two clients in labor at the exact same time.

Thankfully Steffanie Thomas, CD came to my rescue and took great care of one of my clients while I served this one.

And this birth was just incredible!! I am tired but so happy.

24 years ago, I witnessed my first birth at age 11.

This week, I got to watch that baby (my little sister 🥹) give birth to her first baby!

This birth definitely went a little differently than we all pictured, but it was still so beautiful and family-centered.

And, of course, I’m absolutely in love with my newest niece! 💗

But seriously, this mama worked super hard to get her baby here today!

So thankful for the midwife team who coached her pushing through just so many positions and techniques to get baby here vaginally. Amazing!

I was blessed to witness a wonderful birth this evening!

This birth had us a little concerned as Mom was stuck at 4 cm for a very long time. So we were all surprised and delighted when she shot up to 9.5 cm and then met her baby an hour later. 🥹

I enjoyed a short break from attending births last month, and my ADHD was like “You don’t need to relax, let’s tackle some big home projects instead!”

And I’m so happy I did! This bedroom is exactly what I’ve always wanted, and it’s going to be a perfect retreat for recovering from those long doula supports.

I got to attend a wonderful first-time mom induction this morning. I arrived around midnight. This momma worked so hard bringing her baby here, including pushing for nearly 4 hours. Women are amazing, and I'm so blessed to witness some of their greatest moments!

Sunday's birth took a lot of unexpected twists and turns but ended with a new momma snuggling her sweet baby boy! 😍

Today I got to hang out with another doula's client and support her for several hours of her labor. 🤰

Having backup doulas and backing up for other doulas is an intrical part of this work. 🤝

As I am always saying, Birth is ✨unpredictable✨and sometimes two clients go into labor at the same time. I'm super blessed to know so many amazing doulas who back up for me. 🙌

In today's case, I provided about 6 hours of support before her main doula was able to join her (she'd be attending another birth down the hall). 👶

As always, I love this work, and I feel honored Steffanie Thomas, CD trusts me with her clients when needed. 💗
