Not related to my occupation, or any type of occupation that I know of.
One thing about me, I’m going to search high and low for truth. Higher than gold prices. I’m going to do the leg work to see things and have as many opportunities to understand the most complicated of things. As a master mind recently said, it’s not about finding consensus. You’ll fail. Even amongst those you’d imagine would understand or think the same. Life is more about exploring truth and finding a way to share that. Sometimes no matter how loudly it speaks without saying a single word. When I’m here, I’m very quiet. For it’s my job to listen in any language and truly embrace the answers to complex misunderstandings with and without words. Today it was mostly Arabic. Greeted with a smile and a habibi.
You cannot have any understanding of the world or Middle East unless you travel the miles to submerge yourself in culture. A shared country where Muslims, Christian’s, and Jews are all given rights. Places to thrive. Villages to build up. Money to make. Families to raise. Equal rights when using their privilege for good. Every single person. Under a government body. Following the law of the land. However, some get to refuse their service to protect this country, but occupy the land. Why doesn’t anyone want to explore this?
We spent the entire day in an Arab village filled with people and promise. A view of coexistence and a world where all people mix, mingle, and masquerade. Without a need to conceal their true self but cover if you must. Why is this a conversation nobody wants to have? Why is this not the real ISRAEL? You can see the palaces built, the luxury cars, the thriving economy from Arabs. This is the Israel so many won’t recognize. A Jewish homeland home to Arabs, Druze, Israelis, and so on. It’s not my job to school the world, but it sure is my hill to die on explaining the truth of what I see. What is real. What is true.
Anyone who believes the Middle East is to be understood from behind a screen better book a ticket to see the world. Especially the only democracy that exists in one of the smallest countries in the Middle East.
Good night.
