First time in a year or two that I was truly SICK ughh. As much as you work to prevent, sometimes all it takes is the perfect amount of stress or exposure…

My memorial weekend was spent sipping tea and slurping soup. It started as a sore throat which I thought was from allergies, but moved into a good mucus-y cough and fever. Here’s what I did (personal preferences not medical advice) :

I used my sweet earthy roots and spray to sooth my sore throat. Mullein tea and oil drops to help get all the mucus out as I started to get very congested. Echinacea to support my immune system and respiratory system in fighting the yucks away. The tincture also gave me a little boost of energy in the mornings to help with that sickness “grogginess.” LOTS of lozenges with ingredients like lemon and makuna honey, eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is sooo fabulous for congestion in a facial/sinus steam (I have a few kinds put together @ Sprouted Branch for purchase!) I did use a small dose of fever reducer to help with sleep one night, but kept my fever at 100 for the next day to help keep length of illness shorter. (Personal preference)

Lots of yummy soup and of course fluids to stay hydrated and flush toxins out. As it worked its way back up into my throat, I utilized the throat coat tea from traditional medicinals to help. Now I am slowly easing back into things and prioritizing self care. My spring bloobs tea and Tulsi in general is really great for post sickness, so I am in dire need of blending some more for the store! It is coming soon now that I am in convalescence 🥰❤️

Today we honor those who fought. We appreciate those who risked their lives for the better good. For the freedom of enslaved and unspoken for communities. We honor those that ‘lie in Flanders fields.’

Today I encourage you to be grateful. Cause even in the darkest hours at the lowest moments, we can find something to be grateful for. Today I am grateful for my family, close or distant. Learning & observing my lineage has taught me a lot about myself and who I want to be.

Take some time to sit with a veteran and hear their stories. Who knows, maybe you’ll even learn something about yourself! God bless.

Oh MAN, what an awesome and chaotic journey it has been!

If you didn’t know, I started working at Sprouted Branch in the end of 2025: not really sure what my plan was but knew I was meant to be here. God put it on my heart to give it a shot so I took the job. Pass forward a few months, the Shafer store is closed due to low traffic and high expenses. This was hard news for us all to accept. I won’t lie, I was pretty sad due to the ideas I had swarming around for the space and a potential office. So….with a little brainstorming we curated a little office in the back for me!

It is quite small, and was filled to the brim with boxes and decor. We also think one of the previous businesses mayyy have sold drugs out of here, but it’s still MY office. MY space to transform into a peaceful study sanctuary. So I got to work!

It took a few days to get it fully cleared, and this was around the time we started rearranging to fit all of Shafers products….so it was a bit chaotic. OH and I was leaving for my vacation to Texas 😅

We got back and I was so eager to get the ball rolling, of course I was shopping for decor on my trip. Hunty helped me with painting it right before we left, and started shopping for flooring as soon as I got back. Thank you family!!! Finally I shopped for a desk on marketplace, and lucked out on a getting a wooden file cabinet from the side of the road.

Thank you to my sprouted family for allowing me this space, and offering your support 🥰

Anyone else just love how Violet flowers kind of look like butterflies? 🦋

This week has been such a breath of fresh air, aside from all that pollen floating around *achoo* I LOVE being able to get out and appreciate nettles, cleavers, and violets with a gentle harvest full of gratitude 🙏

Got almost all of my plants for this year 🪴so happy I finally got to check out Red Clover Herbal Apothecary Farm annual plant sale. It was cool to hear how far some folks travel for her awesome medicinal plants! It’s always nice chatting to hear how someone journeyed into this way of living ❤

What’s new? I have been back in the kitchen trying some new recipes to share later on! Little announcement coming later today, and BIG announcement coming towards the end of the month mwahahahahaaaa - stay tuned

Life lately 🌼🐝🌱

These past few weeks have been filled with beautiful blooms, and the smell of green grass after a much needed rain! Noticing the nettles, dandelions, ground ivy, and many more returning charmers.

Lots of allergies and injuries during this time of year. Stinging Nettle has been kept close but Echinacea has been even closer to help support my little knee mishap (I was skateboarding…and then I wasn’t skateboarding anymore…ouch)

Lots of garden planning going on, stay tuned for updates and related content!

Man, sometimes I just sit back and realize how incredibly complex the ecosystem is. Slowly planning the garden out, we finally picked up some seeds today! At Huntys place I plan to just throw seeds and hope for the best, but I am a bit more strategic at home! Researching what plants are companions, repelling pests but attracting pollinators like butterflies, bees, and thanking the birds but asking them to please eat provided snacks and not be greedy hehe

Anywhosies, I sure am grateful for all my garden friends and this crazy cool interconnected system 🕊️🌱🌷🐝🦋

The first flowers are sneaking their way up for springtime, my favorite time of the year!

Ground ivy, nettles, violet, and cleavers all work to make their entrance on the forest floor. Colors start colliding and saturation returns. My most favorite time of year 💚 what are you noticing?

Spring is often associated with renewal, and we are reminded to eat our greens & support our natural pathways! Events start popping up, many feel more motivated to exercise, but sometimes we feel lingering moments of that winter slugg. Which is exactly where my newest blend boldly shines!

Not only does Spring Bloobs make a DELICIOUS drink, it carries the benefits you may seek. Read all about it on the blog and purchase locally @ Sprouted Branch

This blend leans into quiet support. Fruity and delicious while offering sips of calm for the nervous system. A simple cup, grounded in both tradition and research.
