First time in a year or two that I was truly SICK ughh. As much as you work to prevent, sometimes all it takes is the perfect amount of stress or exposure…
My memorial weekend was spent sipping tea and slurping soup. It started as a sore throat which I thought was from allergies, but moved into a good mucus-y cough and fever. Here’s what I did (personal preferences not medical advice) :
I used my sweet earthy roots and spray to sooth my sore throat. Mullein tea and oil drops to help get all the mucus out as I started to get very congested. Echinacea to support my immune system and respiratory system in fighting the yucks away. The tincture also gave me a little boost of energy in the mornings to help with that sickness “grogginess.” LOTS of lozenges with ingredients like lemon and makuna honey, eucalyptus. Eucalyptus is sooo fabulous for congestion in a facial/sinus steam (I have a few kinds put together @ Sprouted Branch for purchase!) I did use a small dose of fever reducer to help with sleep one night, but kept my fever at 100 for the next day to help keep length of illness shorter. (Personal preference)
Lots of yummy soup and of course fluids to stay hydrated and flush toxins out. As it worked its way back up into my throat, I utilized the throat coat tea from traditional medicinals to help. Now I am slowly easing back into things and prioritizing self care. My spring bloobs tea and Tulsi in general is really great for post sickness, so I am in dire need of blending some more for the store! It is coming soon now that I am in convalescence 🥰❤️
