Excited for Ground & Root Pelvic Floor Therapy to be invited as a vendor to this FREE
community wellness event for moms in the perinatal period.
There I will be sharing information about two new service offerings:

1. Ready.Set.Birth & Recover: A VIRTUAL 6-week core and pelvic floor health coaching program for moms who are at least 2 weeks postpartum

2. Prenatal PranaMaMa Yoga: A VIRTUAL Monthly gentle yoga flow with use of props and modifications to safely support every body's participation in this core/pelvic floor focused class
Both classes will launch FEBRUARY 6, 2026.
If you are in the Woodbridge, VA or surrounding communities, come and meet other local practitioners, as well as for the opportunity to participate in a prenatal yoga flow led by Chrissy Randolph , as well as enjoy the soothing sounds from a Sound Bath Healing to facilitate nervous system regulation.

Can't wait to get these pictures off the camera and onto the website.
As things have slowed down, and I make my way into hosting community events, here's what I learned and continue to be reminded of as I reflect over this year's " event:
1. Black women are beautiful.

2. Black women are resilient.

3. Black women desire and thrive in community.

4. Being in community with black women is healing.

5. Y(our) reach is far greater than what you see in front of you.

6. Rather than waiting to see who's going to do it...you have to step out on faith and be the one to do it.

7. Photography is my preferred media for shaping and changing the narrative of how black women choose to birth and breastfeed.

8. Good things happen in partnership.
Shout out to for your knowledge and expertise on lactation and breastfeeding, AND
for selecting me as one of their mat grant recipients, used for a safe, sitting space as we gathered and fellowshipped.

Today officially kicks off Black Breastfeeding Week!
I am so excited about this year's theme "Boots on the Ground: Rooted in Breastfeeding Success, Grounded in Community Support".
Created in 2014, B*W raises awareness about unique challenges faced by Black mothers, such as disparities in breastfeeding rates and the need for culturally relevant support and diversity within the lactation field.
As an Occupational Therapist practicing in maternal health, this theme resonated with me, as much of the work I do in private practice is guided by community partnership and programming for improving maternal health outcomes.
So join me and others as we celebrate BLACK BREASTFEEDING WEEK through various events hosted virtually as well as in person.
