I love sharing what I've learned over the last five years with the guests that come to the Sauna Way. I've learned so much from my them… Especially the ones that come from Sauna cultures and have lived it their entire lives. We always talk about what their previous Sauna experiences have been, how they felt and what they enjoyed as far as heat, steam, etc.. I then try to tailor the information that I share in a way that customizes the experience for them. Do you like a high heat without humidity? Do you love a ton of steam and a lower temperature? I explain how ventilation affects the experience. Sometimes we talk about the science and how to maximize the benefits while they are here. This week was filled with guests of all experience levels. Some only knew Sauna from the gym or hotel, some none at all, some have been to a Nordic spa, some have been to Sweden and experienced authentic Sauna there. Each conversation was so unique and gratifying. One world traveler said "you've got this figured out Elaine". I really don't....I'm constantly evolving and refining the experience, adding little things to keep it unique and special. Most importantly, I'm always looking for new ways to share this life enhancing experience with others!

Got stress? Mammalian Dive Reflex...look it up. Submerging your face in cold water is amazing for stress and anxiety relief. I let my sauna guests who don't love a cold plunge know that they can achieve this at home by simply submerging their face in a bowl of ice water for 15-30 seconds.

This is the dream ... A few years ago not many MD's were prescribing Accupuncture, Energy Work, Massage or Chiro but it is so much more common now. I'm seeing it happening here and in other countries where people are working bring more awareness of lifestyle medicine to the healthcare system.

As summer creeps toward its end and the weather begins to cool, take a little time for yourself to reset before fall. A 2 to 3 hour sauna session with plenty of time to rest and relax in between sauna rounds will do the trick. I tell my guests that if you're in the sauna for 15 minutes then plan on spending at least 15 minutes outside the sauna resting, relaxing, and rehydrating. This is where the environment really matters. Is it peaceful? Is it private? Do you hear the birds, the wind chimes and the rustle of the trees? Do you feel the breeze against your skin? Does it make you feel comfortable and rested? Being present for the little things nature provides amplifies the benefits of sauna and make it all the more special. BTW, that's the actual sound of birds here in the video, not Insta Audio! Book via link in bio The Sauna Way

Burning some Palo Santo, and messing around with a singing bowl while I wait for my next sauna guests. I had my first sound bath around 10 years ago and I really responded when the practitioner played one of the larger, deeply vibrating bowls above me. This one is smaller and a little more high-pitched but I still enjoy how the beautiful sound makes me feel when I play it. I have it here for you to experiment with and enjoy when you visit!
