Hi all, we are looking to hire a weekend barn person in Stanwood!
*must have reliable transportation in ALL weather (save a few rare exceptions - rain is not an exception but flooding is. Light snow fall is not an exception but 4 ft of snow or ice on the roads is....you get the jist)
*must be able to lift 75 lbs on occasion, 50 lbs on the regular, climb a ladder to a hay loft, push and pull a wheelbarrow full of....my hopes and dreams.
*must have horse CARE experience. How much? More than pony rides at summer camp. Be able to halter, lead, groom, apply blankets, masks, and assess for wounds and illnesses, provide minor first aid (apply an ointment or hold pressure until I can call the vet), and understand hay and grain types. You do not need to be a horse whisperer...regular speaking voice is fine 😉
*fencing and general maintenance experience a plus! Horses like to test fences and my patience from time to time 😆
Hours: 7am to 9am and 7pm to 8pm Saturday and Sunday- all year long. In the summer the AM hours may bump up to 6am due to events on site, but we can chat about that. Feel free to pack strong coffee along or fire up the keurig in the barn.
This can be two people - an AM person and a PM person, or one person to do both shifts.
