Because your kidneys are the body’s filtration hub, they bear the brunt of any excess oxalates.

Too many oxalates can lead to various kidney issues, including:

😳Oxalate nephropathy (in severe cases)

Working one-on-one with a BeWell practitioner means you'll receive a highly personalized health protocol, tailored just for you. You're motivated and ready to feel better. There’s only one thing standing between you and success - actually taking your supplements!

Here are our clinicians' top 3 tips to help you stay on track with your supplement routine:

1️⃣ Keep supplements visible.
Out of sight, out of mind! Make your environment your reminder by placing supplements in clear view. Bedtime supplements? Keep them on your nightstand. Daily creams or serums? Place them in your bathroom vanity next to your other daily hygiene activities like brushing teeth and washing face. Digestive supplements for meals? Store them on the dining table by the salt and pepper shaker.

2️⃣ Set Reminders
As BeWell Nutritionist Laura Menefee, CNS tells her clients “if it’s not in the calendar, it doesn’t exist! ”Use phone and calendar alerts to stay consistent. Prefer a more traditional approach? Use colorful reminders in your day planner, wall calendar, or on the kitchen bulletin board!

3️⃣ Get organized
Nothing beats a weekly pill organizer. Organizing your supplements at the start of the week can help you remember them later, and having the organizer handy makes taking supplements on the go a breeze. If you’re often out and about, consider a second organizer specifically for lunchtime supplements.

📣Key takeaways📣
Supplements can play a vital role in improving your health, but knowing which ones to take and when can be daunting.

BeWell clinicians provide highly individualized supplement recommendations along with other dietary and lifestyle advice to optimize your health markers.

Remember, supplements only work if you take them! Use these tips to seamlessly incorporate them into your daily routine.

Save this for your next trip! ✈️💤 New surroundings, late sunsets, unfamiliar routines…sleep can be tricky when you’re away from home. 😴

Here are a few gentle sleep-support tools from BeWell Clinician Rachel Long, CNS, that you can pack in your suitcase:

🌿 Herbal tea: Chamomile or a calming blend like Sleepytime can become a relaxing part of your bedtime routine.

💜 Lavender: Diffuse it in your room or try a lavender pillow spray for a calming bedtime cue.

💊 Magnesium glycinate: A gentle option for relaxation and sleep support that typically doesn’t affect bowel function. If you tend to experience both constipation and sleep issues while traveling, talk with your BeWell clinician about whether another form of magnesium might help with both.

✨ The best part? These simple tools can support your natural sleep without necessarily reaching for OTC sleep aids that may leave you groggy the next morning.

At BeWell Associates, we know that for many moms, September is one of the most exhausting times of the year. The shift from late-summer freedom to school-year structure can send stress (and sleep!) off the rails.

Between school drop-offs, sports practices, packed lunches, and endless to-dos, your system can feel wired and tired all at once.

💤 Why can’t you sleep right now? One word: cortisol.
Cortisol is your body’s natural stress responder and it’s not the villain.

The problem is when your cortisol rhythm becomes imbalanced:
📈 Too high at night? You feel wired and can’t wind down.
📉 Too low (burned out)? You crash early but wake up at 3am wide awake.

💡 What’s the solution? Test, don’t guess!
We use 24-hour saliva cortisol testing to see exactly where your stress response is misfiring. From there, your BeWell nutritionist builds a personalized, natural plan to reset your rhythm.

With the right support, you can:
✔️ Sleep through the night
✔️ Wake up refreshed
✔️ Handle the back-to-school hustle with clarity and calm

📞 Book your consult today to get started on your personalized sleep support plan.📞

Because you deserve to feel like yourself again - energized, focused, and well-rested.

As the school year begins and kids bring home more than just homework, it’s time to give your immune system some extra love.

One of our favorite herbal allies? Pelargonium sidoides, also known as South African geranium, or more commonly, Umcka.

🌿 Why We Love It:
Umcka has been studied for over a decade for its ability to fight colds, sinus infections, and bronchitis symptoms. A 2013 Cochrane Review of 8 clinical trials showed that it can shorten the duration and lessen the severity of respiratory illnesses. [3]

Fast forward to the pandemic:
Recent studies found that Umcka has powerful antiviral properties, particularly against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.

🔬 In a 2022 study, Umcka was shown to block the infection pathway of the virus at the cellular level. [2]

Then in 2023, researchers using the EPs® 7630 formula (the exact one we carry at BeWell) identified compounds like epigallocatechin and taxifolin that block viral replication and reduce virus entry into cells. [1]

💊 Yes, we carry the clinical-grade formula (EPs® 7630) here at BeWell!

Most clinical trials use 30 drops of liquid extract or a 20 mg tablet for adults. [4]

However, dosage should always be tailored to your age, weight, and health history, which is why we recommend speaking with your BeWell nutritionist to find the right dose for you.

✅ For best results, take Umcka at the very first sign of symptoms, or even after known exposure. The sooner you start, the more effective it can be.

Stay well this fall, naturally.

Did you know that your blood sugar and hormones are closely linked?

Research shows that when blood sugar levels drop, estrogen steps in to help transport glucose to the brain.

However, during menopause, declining estrogen levels can interfere with this process.

When glucose can’t reach the brain as needed, it can trigger an exaggerated response in your nervous system. This leads to vasodilation (the widening of blood vessels) as your body attempts to deliver more glucose and oxygen to the brain.

🥵 The result? That all-too-familiar sensation of heat spreading across your body.

In other words, blood sugar drops can set off a chain reaction that ends in flushing and hot flashes.

In fact, some studies suggest that dips in glucose between meals can be a key trigger for these symptoms. [1,2]

The takeaway?

Keeping an eye on your blood sugar and maintaining steady levels might help reduce hot flashes, especially for menopausal women with low estrogen.

Thinking about starting GLP-1s, or already using them?
Here’s the thing: losing weight with these medications isn’t just about fat.

A significant portion comes from muscle and bone, which can slow your metabolism and make maintaining results much harder.

That’s why it’s so important to have a plan that protects your lean mass, supports your metabolism, and safeguards bone health, before, during, and after GLP-1 use.

At BeWell, we help you combine GLP-1 therapy with personalized nutrition, resistance training, and lifestyle strategies to keep your body strong, your metabolism robust, and your results sustainable.

💡 Your weight loss journey is more than just the number on the scale—let’s make it healthy and lasting.
