⭐Athlete of the Month: Piper Doten⭐doten

Today we’re highlighting one of our incredible Fusion athletes/coaches who has made a huge impact both inside and outside the gym.

She originally came to Fusion Training after moving to Statesboro for college in search of a new CrossFit home. From day one, her goals were clear: qualify for semifinals and continue developing as a competitive CrossFit athlete.

Since joining, she has done exactly that and more. She has grown significantly in strength, competed as a PRO athlete at Fittest of the Coast, and achieved one of her long term goals by making semifinals twice. Her progress reflects years of consistency, discipline, and a true love for the sport.

When asked about her favorite part of Fusion, she pointed to the community. The balance of competitiveness and support has made it easy to show up every day and push her limits alongside people who want the best for each other.

One of the biggest surprises along her journey has been discovering a passion for coaching. What started as personal training growth turned into a genuine love for helping athletes develop and being part of their fitness journey.

Her advice to anyone nervous about starting CrossFit is simple and powerful: CrossFit is for everyone. Every workout can be scaled, and everyone starts somewhere, even if those starting points look different.

Her favorite movements include anything involving handstands, especially handstand walking, which she calls a “little treat” in workouts. She also holds a special place in her heart for the 5:30 AM class, where coaching early risers became one of the most rewarding parts of her day.

Fusion has played a major role in her life, giving her a home away from home, strong training partners, and a place where her passion for both training and coaching could grow.

We are proud to have her as part of the Fusion community and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next.

This past Memorial Day, our Fusion Training community came together for Murph to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Thank you to every athlete, coach, family member, and supporter who showed up, pushed through the workout, and took time to reflect on the true meaning behind the day.

We are grateful for this community and proud to honor the fallen together each year. ❤️🤍💙

"I just passed 100 days with Fusion Training. Before entering their doors, I had never used a gym before. Just stepping inside was SOOOO far outside my comfort zone!!!!! I actually thought they would not be able to help me, an aging woman with issues. Then I met Hanna. Hanna is my trainer and biggest cheerleader. She listens carefully to the flexibility issues I continue to experience since a hip replacement two years ago. Such as getting off the floor. That was only going to happen using my stronger leg and most likely with the assistance of a piece of furniture. Also, I had given up on sneakers with laces as the flexibility was terrible and tying the surgery side shoe was nearly impossible. In my workouts Hanna targets hip strength and mobility while also working on all the other areas - core, upper & lower body, etc.
I am a very different person from the day one version. Since joining Fusion I can honestly say I feel better, I am stronger and I am more flexible. And guess what? I can tie my shoe AND get off the floor unassisted. I am close to getting up using my weaker leg. Bonus, going to Fusion is also helping me with my natural weight loss journey.

On Memorial Day I participated in a modified Murph for Beginners. Yes, it was modified but I DID IT! Two photos are of me at a regular workout session. One photo is me being 100% proud my myself after the modified Murph for Beginners. I was so sweated down therefore I had my cooling towel tied around my head.

It is never too late to exercise, regardless of your age!"
