Feeling like I need a little more of this for the next 7 months of the year. In my regulated, rested, and unbothered era does not mean I never feel anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed.
It means I am trying to notice sooner when my mind is turning one thought into a whole spiral. I am trying to pause before I give every worry, every text, every reaction, and every possible outcome the rest of my day.
As a therapist, I see how easy it is to confuse overthinking with being responsible. It can feel like if you keep replaying it, preparing for it, or mentally solving it, you are doing something useful. But a lot of the time, the spiral just keeps you tired and stuck.
Being more regulated is not about becoming perfectly calm. It is about catching the moment when your mind starts pulling you away from yourself, and gently coming back.
Less spiraling. More rest. More room to breathe.
