We have been writing the story of our friendship for over six decades. It has taught us that real connection doesn’t demand constant updates. Like the tides, our lives have ebbed and flowed—there were seasons where the rush of life pushed us into the background of each other’s days, but the thread between us never broke. Hanging out at the ghost museum with my besties. Sat in a haunted chair and interacted with haunted dolls, toys, rocking horses, and other spooky items. Were they haunted? Maybe? (Or maybe the ghosts were napping when we visited.) We had a day of fun doing what I enjoy most—interacting with spirits and sharing the experience with my two childhood friends.

The basic idea is that what we might call insomnia today could be a leftover from the way people slept before the industrial age.
