There's a way we often find ourselves reaching for rest that we could call false rest.
That extra glass of wine at the end of a long day.
The scrolling that stretches on for hours without us quite knowing why.
We know deep down these behaviors aren't restful, but somehow they take us to a rest place that isn't a true one.
The body stays braced, the mind stays busy, and we wake up no more restored than before.
True rest is something else entirely.
It's a place where the mind and body are entirely supported in a well of well-being, true nature, and peace.
The beautiful part is that we can cultivate it.
Breath can help us slow the body and slow the thoughts.
Yoga Nidra can guide us through clearing the five subtle bodies and into deep, profound stillness.
These are practices we can learn, and as we do, we can release false rest once and for all.
Come learn them with us this July at Clear the Path: Resources for the Sacred Self at Yogaville, where you can register here: https://www.yogaville.org/yoga-programs/12057/clear-the-path-resources-for-the-sacred-self-weekend-retreat/
