I didn’t just drop 100 pounds one time…
I had to learn this lesson twice. 💕
The first time, I was 36 years old. I dropped 100 pounds in 10 months.
And within a year, I had gained it all back.
That part of my story used to embarrass me. But now I understand it was one of the biggest lessons God used to shape me.
Because I knew how to lose weight.
I knew how to follow a plan.
I knew how to push through.
I knew how to be disciplined for a season.
But I did not know how to live it.
I did not understand maintenance.
I did not understand my triggers.
I did not understand emotional eating, stress patterns, hormones, mindset, identity, and the daily structure it takes to become a different woman.
This picture on the left was me at 41 years old.
But it still took me a little longer before I got serious again.
By the time I made the decision to drop the weight for the second time, I was 43.
Seven years after dropping 100 pounds the first time, I had to face the truth:
I could not keep trying to change my body while keeping the same mindset, habits, and identity.
That is when everything started to shift.
Not overnight.
Not perfectly.
But deeply.
I had to stop chasing a smaller body and start becoming a healthier woman.
A woman who thinks differently.
A woman who pays attention to her patterns.
A woman who does not quit every time life gets hard.
A woman who learns how to steward her body instead of punishing it.
That is real transformation. 🙌🏽
2 Corinthians 5:17 says:
“If anyone belongs to Christ, there is a new creation. The old things have gone; everything is made new.”
That Scripture hits different when you have had to become new in your mind, your habits, your choices, your relationship with food, and the way you show up for yourself.
Because dropping weight is one thing.
Learning how to live differently is another.
Today, at 53, I am not standing here because I found a quick fix.
I am standing here because God helped me renew my mind, rebuild my habits, and become the woman I used to pray to be.
That is why I became a health coach, personal trainer, and weight loss coach for Christian women.
Because for many of us, this is not just about needing another workout or another meal plan.
It is deeper than that.
It is about learning how to steward the body God gave us.
1 Corinthians 10:31 says:
“Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”
For me, that meant I had to stop separating my faith from how I cared for my body.
My food choices mattered.
My movement mattered.
My mindset mattered.
My patterns mattered.
My consistency mattered.
Not because I needed to be perfect.
But because I was called to be faithful.
I know what it feels like to drop the weight and still feel stuck.
I know what it feels like to start over and wonder if you will ever get it right.
I know what it feels like to be embarrassed, ashamed, and tired of being back at square one.
But I also know what is possible when you stop just trying to lose weight and start surrendering to the process of becoming new.
This is not just about food and fitness.
It is stewardship.
It is identity.
It is mindset.
It is structure.
It is healing old patterns.
It is learning how to live in the body God gave you with wisdom, discipline, and grace.
And if you see yourself in any part of my story, I want you to know this:
You are not too old.
You are not too far gone.
You are not stuck forever.
But you do have to be willing to change more than your plate.
You have to be willing to become new. 💕
Have you ever dropped weight, gained it back, and had to start again?
Drop a 💕 in the comments if you can relate.
