💛 ALS Ride For Life would like to extend our appreciation to the Moynihan Family for including us, along with several other ALS nonprofit organizations, in their incredible fundraising walk this past weekend.

The Moynihan family, who live in Ashville, NY, have experienced firsthand the importance of community support throughout their ALS journey. Because their area frequently loses power, reliable backup electricity has become critically important for both safety and quality of life. Through our Home Modification Program, ALS Ride For Life was honored to be one of a few nonprofits to gift their family a full-house generator — helping provide security, comfort, and peace of mind during an incredibly challenging time.

To see the Moynihan family now giving back to the ALS community with such generosity, compassion, and determination is truly inspiring.

Their fundraiser not only raised support for organizations serving the ALS community but also brought people together in hope, love, and solidarity for families facing this devastating disease.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, walked, and supported this meaningful event. Together, we continue to make a difference in the lives of those affected by ALS.

We thank them for allowing us the opportunity to educate your students and staff about ALS, share our mission, and inspire the next generation to make a difference through compassion, advocacy, and community service.

This past weekend, during ALS Awareness Month, ALS Ride For Life laid 6,000 pinwheels to represent the approximately 6,000 people who lose their lives to ALS each year in the United States. 💙

Our beautiful pinwheel display serves as a powerful visual reminder of the lives impacted by this devastating disease and the urgent need for continued awareness, advocacy, support, and hope for a cure.

The display is located at Lot 40 (AKA the P Lot) on the Stony Brook University campus along South Drive near the entrance of the soccer fields. We encourage our community to stop by, reflect, and help spread awareness throughout the month of May.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all of the incredible volunteers who came out this morning to help make this meaningful display possible. Your time, compassion, and dedication continue to move our mission forward.

Navigating life with an ALS diagnosis is incredibly challenging, and we have come to realize how much we often take for granted in our day-to-day lives. For my husband, using the bathroom in its current state has been a huge hurdle. Thanks to the incredible support we've received, we are now able to transform it into a safer and more comfortable space. This change will make a tremendous difference for our family.
