The holidays can disrupt routines more than we realize.

Changes in sleep, activity levels, home setup, and daily schedules can all impact balance and safety — especially for older adults.

If things feel a little “off” right now, that’s common.

Occupational therapy helps re-establish routines, improve confidence, and support safe movement at home after periods of change.

If you're feeling the effects of the 𝙃𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙃𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙡𝙚 - give us a call. We're here to help.

𝗙𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝘁...

The start of a new year doesn’t have to feel rushed.

It’s okay to ease back into routines, notice what feels harder, and take things one step at a time.

For many older adults, early January is a good time to check in on balance, energy levels, and daily activities — especially after busy holiday weeks.

Small adjustments now can support safety and confidence for the months ahead.

A 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 is here ✨

For many older adults and caregivers, the new year isn’t about big resolutions — it’s about staying steady, safe, and independent at home.

Small goals matter:
• Improving balance
• Reducing fall risk
• Feeling more confident with daily routines
• Staying active in ways that feel doable

Occupational Therapy supports real-life goals that help people continue doing the things that matter 𝙢𝙤𝙨𝙩 to them.

Did you know that holiday routines can 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘭𝘺 increase fall risk for older adults?🎄

✔ Extra clutter
✔ Different furniture layouts
✔ Guests, distractions, and fatigue

If you or a loved one noticed more unsteadiness this month, that’s a real and common concern — 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗧 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵.

Small changes = safer days at home.

We've received a lot of calls this past week from concerned family members seeing their aging parents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, etc for maybe the first time in a few months or longer, who are noticing significant changes in their loved ones, thus raising cause for concern. If this sounds familiar, don't hesitate to reach out to us. 𝗪𝗲'𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻...

December has been 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 — and not just with holiday cookies 🎄

Between appointments, family commitments, schedule changes, and all the “extra” that comes with this time of year, it’s easy to feel like the month flew by in a blur.

If you’re feeling behind, overwhelmed, or like routines were hard to keep up with… you’re not alone. We hear this all the time from older adults and caregivers.

At Aging With Ability, we’ve been helping older adults stay safe, independent, and confident at home — even during the busiest, most unpredictable weeks of the year.

Progress doesn’t have to be perfect or all-or-nothing. Small steps still matter, especially when life gets hectic 💙
