Whitestone's Admissions Director Lydia Rodriguez, Registered Dietitian Stephanie Ware, and Nursing Home Administrator, Nicole Grego met with several other Members of the Pocono Area Senior Alliance (PASA) for our May meeting to focus on something that truly matters, supporting seniors in our community who are facing food insecurity, both for themselves and their beloved pets.

Today, we learned that one of the most recognized supportive services that Monroe County Meals on Wheels also provides is the Pet Program that started in 2009. This helps clients keep their pets healthy and at home. As of recent reports, the program serves about 75 clients and more than 110 pets. The organization emphasizes that pets provide companionship and emotional support for many homebound clients, helping reduce loneliness and improve quality of life.

It was a productive discussion, with Monroe County members collaborating on real, meaningful solutions. We were especially encouraged by the incredible work being done by St. Luke’s Church, Monroe County Meals on Wheels, and Representative Tara Probst’s Office House
District 189, who are all coming together to brainstorm and work together to take action and address these challenges our seniors face head-on.

From upcoming initiatives to creative fundraisers, there is so much in the works that will directly benefit our community and the seniors who need it most.

We’re proud to stand alongside such dedicated partners, all working toward the same goal making sure no senior feels unsupported or goes without. Stay tuned… there are great things ahead PASA Proud!

Our residents had the sweetest time at our Paint & Sip with the Pocono Decorative Artists!
There was so much laughter, creativity, and a whole lot of talent in the room! From picking colors to adding their own personal touches, everyone made their paintings uniquely their own and, had a great time doing it.

A huge thank you to the Pocono Decorative Artists for sharing their time and talent with us. We loved every minute!

Our dedicated and amazing Registered Dietitian, Stephanie, and our Admissions Director took her talents to an apartment community in East Stroudsburg to share simple, real-life tips on healthy eating! ✨

From smart swaps to easy meal ideas, she made nutrition feel doable, fun, and realistic. It was great to chat with former Whitestone Therapy graduates. Miss Debbie's lunch was a huge hit! Everyone was raving over the pasta salad!

These women don’t just talk about providing exceptional care, they truly walk the walk every single day within our community, continuously striving to enhance our residents’ quality of life. Their compassion, dedication, and hands-on approach set the standard for what care should look like.

Beyond our walls, they extend that same commitment into the community, taking every opportunity to serve others throughout the county. Whether lending a helping hand, supporting local initiatives, or simply being a positive presence, they are making a meaningful difference and leaving a lasting impact on the lives of so many.

As Whitestone honored the brave heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, we also celebrated the joy of togetherness with delicious food, smiling faces, and hearts full of appreciation. From the mouthwatering ribs, smoky barbecue chicken, to the hot dogs, hamburgers, sweet corn on the cob, pasta salad, and refreshing watermelon, every bite was served with love.

Miss Debbie and her team know how to throw a party! Check out the smiles of our staff and residents coming together to celebrate! This is what community truly means! ❤️

Memorial Day weekend in the Poconos said "pool day"...but Mother Nature said "puddle day." So our residents made the most of the rainy vibes with dominoes, puzzles, hot coffee chats, and tending to our indoor plants while the rain did its thing. ☔Turns out rainy days make some pretty sweet memories too!
