On my wellness walk this morning I contemplated traditions as my son Kane is visiting for the week. I made a pot of sauce with meatballs knowing I need to pass along the details of such things. It’s what keeps my mother‘s energy alive, along with my grandmother inside of me as I share these traditions with my son and feed myself at the same time. What family traditions have you taken on in a good way? Are there others that need to be shifted or changed? Examining this for yourself can look like investigating your relationship to how you feed yourself and to notice if there are changes that you can make that will serve who you are becoming rather than where you came from. Just some food for thought!

Good morning Spirit Wellians! This morning, I woke up with a lot of pain in my body, tightness in my chest and aches in my joints. along with those physical sensations a lot of tender memories as today is my son‘s 23rd birthday and for the first time in his life, I won’t be physically seeing him on his birthday and that’s a pretty complicated set of feelings. Since my relocation, I have not been able to see much of both of my children and it’s been difficult to get grounded and establish myself here in a few ways, in large part due to that loss of proximity to my kids and then the wider context of my community.

I am very grateful to have had Spirit Well as a place to receive me as I continue to offer my experience through 20 years of spiritual practices, emotional regulation techniques, ancestral healing, and reclaiming of my spirit from patterns of conditioning that no longer serve me.

with all of this coursing through me, I woke up, stretched, cried, went for a walk tended to my home and I’m ready to receive my other son who will be visiting in the next few days. Life is a complicated series of events and if we’re lucky enough to find peace and contentment through parts of it, then we can extend that to others and show the way in holding it all lightly as we float through this messy miracle we call existence.
