Confused by Your Child’s School Evaluation? You’re Not Alone.

Have you ever received a school evaluation report and thought:

▪️ What do all these scores actually mean?
▪️ Does my child qualify for services?
▪️ Why does the report say one thing when I’m seeing something different at home?
▪️ What questions should I be asking at the IEP meeting?

School evaluations can provide valuable information, but they can also feel overwhelming. The terminology, standard scores, eligibility criteria, and recommendations aren’t always easy to understand—especially when you’re trying to process information about your own child.

As a speech-language pathologist, I offer school evaluation consultations for families who want help understanding:

✅ Evaluation results and test scores
✅ Eligibility decisions
✅ Speech and language recommendations
✅ IEP goals and service delivery recommendations
✅ Questions to ask your child’s team
✅ Whether additional evaluation or support may be beneficial

My goal isn’t to replace your school team—it’s to help you feel informed, empowered, and confident as you advocate for your child.

Sometimes parents simply need someone to translate the report into plain English.

If you’ve recently received an evaluation and would like a professional review, I’d be happy to help.

If your child has been in speech therapy and you’re thinking: “Something just isn’t clicking…”

You’re not imagining it.

Sometimes therapy looks like:

* The same goals for months
* Minimal carryover at home
* Reports that don’t actually explain what’s going on

And you’re left wondering what to do next.

That’s where I do things differently.

I focus on understanding the why behind your child’s communication—and making a plan that actually makes sense for real life.

You deserve more than guessing.

Have something like this at home? 👀

You’ve already got a speech therapy tool—now let’s build language into play! 🗣️💬

Try modeling simple, powerful words while your child rides:
• “go!” / “stop!”
• “more!” / “all done”
• “fast!” / “slow…”
• “up” / “down” (getting on/off)
• “on” / “off”
• “turn!” / “again!”
• “beep beep!” 🚗

You can also:
✨ Pause and wait to encourage them to request “go” or “more”
✨ Add gestures (hand up for “stop,” push forward for “go”)
✨ Get silly—make it exciting so they WANT to communicate!

Remember: it’s not about quizzing—it’s about modeling language naturally during play 💛

This is exactly how we build communication in ways that feel fun, engaging, and meaningful.

Need help turning everyday play into real progress? I’ve got you 😊
