MOSQUITO FOGGING NOTICE

The Sturgis Parks Department will begin mosquito fogging operations at dusk on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings, weather permitting.

Crews will focus treatment efforts in areas where mosquito activity has been reported, including:

City parks and recreational areas
Sports Facilities
Bike paths and trail corridors
Residential neighborhoods throughout the community
Other public spaces with high mosquito activity

Mosquito fogging is an effective tool used to reduce adult mosquito populations and help improve outdoor recreational opportunities for residents and visitors. The products used are approved for mosquito control and are applied in accordance with all label requirements and applicable regulations.

What Residents Should Know

Fogging targets adult mosquitoes and provides temporary population reduction.

Applications are conducted during the evening hours when mosquitoes are most active and weather conditions are most effective.

Residents who wish to minimize exposure may choose to remain indoors while fogging is occurring in their area.

The City appreciates the public's cooperation as we work to reduce mosquito populations and improve the comfort and enjoyment of our parks, trails, neighborhoods, and outdoor spaces.
