Chamomile is one of my favorite garden herbal allies 👇
I work with German Chamomile, which is the common one for teas, poultices, and washes. It is sweet and apple-scented, and is a gentle nervine (calming & relaxing). It can also be used as a digestive aid and to help relax muscle spasms from cramps. It is generally safe for everyone, but can occasionaly cause an allergic reaction similar to seasonal allergies.
Roman Chamomile is more often used for essential oils, and tends to have a stronger taste. Both types of Chamomile grow well in Connecticut soil.
Look for this herbal friend in my loose-leaf teas! You’ll spot it in my Sweet Dreams blend, and soon it will star alongside Milky Oats in my upcoming “Anxie-tea” blend 🫖
Happy gardening, my friends!
