Your child’s got behavior goals & a plan for how to meet them. You probably also have parent goals as a part of that plan, but let’s talk about how you’re dealing with your thoughts about getting them done along the way.

🩷 let’s get some perspective - what are you overanalyzing these days and what do you think will not be as big of a deal when you look back in the future?

❤️ let’s consider what’s super important you - what’s the first word that pops in your head when you think about what kind of parent you want to be?

🧡 let’s notice the judgements you keep placing on yourself - what do you feel when instead of pushing back against them you just look at them?

💛 let’s push back against the bubbles that we have been hanging out inside for too long - what words do you describe yourself with that maybe aren’t applicable anymore?

Balance is so old school.

Let’s aim for clarity going forward.

You CAN feel better about all areas of your life if you practice the tools that improve the most important relationship in your life - the one with your mind. 🧠

It’s tough when you realize your life is up to you.

That it keeps going whether or not you put much effort towards creating a future you desire or not.

It’s even harder as moms of elementary schoolers and so much of our effort needs to be put towards others success each day.

Figuring out where you want to go in the near future as well as in the further out years is difficult.

I struggle with it, too.

And I’m a super happy & pretty relaxed person *most* days.

And on others I have to lean hard on tools I’ve learned over the years to consider my next steps.

These days will keep coming so I’m doing my best to make them look how I want.

This is what I’m passionate about helping you do, too.

Let’s put some meaning into your days.

When’s the last time you said to yourself, “I love my life”?

Weeks?

Years?

Ever?

(Spoiler alert… you’re not ever going to be happy with your life 24/7.)

That’s not what we’re striving towards.

But do you ever feel that your kids aren’t the sole driving force in your life?

They sure do take up a lot of my time & energy but do they provide me with all the joy I seek in life?

My kids give me a ridiculous amount of love and happiness.

(I know you already know the power of mom love.💕)

But do they fill your relationship bucket? How about your professional bucket?

You know (or maybe hope) that they won’t need carpooling or be squatters in your house forever...

But are you ready to fill up the time they take up right now with something else in the future?

Because that future is going to sneak up on us with zero warning & it may lead to feeling a bit lost.

My son has a minimum of four hours a week of soccer practice plus games. Plus the driving to/from.

Yet, how many hours do I dedicate on movement for myself?

How many minutes a day do I commit to something I truly enjoy because I deserve it?

Our children deserve the best we can give.

And we deserve the best we can give, too.

Swipe through if you struggle with being this mom.

First of all, there’s nothing wrong with being this mom.

This mom is so many of us.

This mom was and still is a bit of me.

This mom is most of your friends.

We don’t go to mom-school.

We don’t go to self-care-school.

We don’t go to psychologial-flexibility-School.

Until now.

There are ways to change your life for the better (even while hard-core parenting).

There are evidence-based behavioral strategies to learn and tools to practice to create a more desirable life.

This is how to start your Monday on the right foot.⤵️

After spending most of Saturday & Sunday out of the house at a soccer tournament I wasn’t feeling a hugely productive Sunday evening.

So as I found myself standing in the kitchen telling myself I *should* do some cooking for the week I asked myself this instead:

What can I do tonight that I would feel thankful tomorrow for doing?

Another version…

What can I do this evening that would leave me to going to bed feeling good about ending the day?

I saw a couple peppers on their way to being no good so I chopped them up for a quicker meal in the next day or two.

I threw a load of laundry in the wash so no one complained of not having underwear or their favorite hoodie this week.

I sat on the couch and read a magazine for a while so my body could rest from all that cheering.🤣

And finally, I laid out clothes to exercise in early tomorrow morning. That action simply tells my brain, hey you’re going to do this, get ready.
