Apparently we have a diabetic alert kitty now. 😂🐈‍⬛

Last night Dexcom was saying Julian was hanging out in the 60s–70s. Meanwhile, I could hear Kai ZOOMING around upstairs where Julian sleeps, which was weird enough that it caught my attention.

I went upstairs thinking I’d just give Julian a glucose tab and call it good… but something made me do a finger poke. He was in the 40s. 😳 And definitely not feeling great.

So now I’m wondering if Kai wasn’t randomly losing his mind upstairs after all. Maybe he was trying to tell us, “HELLO?! THE HUMAN IS LOW. DOES ANYONE WORK AROUND HERE?!” 😂

So congratulations to Kai on his unexpected promotion to Diabetic Alert Kitty. 🐾😂 Payment will be issued in treats. 😋

Julian had his 3-month endo check-up today! 💙

Overall, it was a really productive appointment. We spent a lot of time talking about some of the pump site issues we’ve been dealing with and how they may have contributed to some higher blood sugars lately.

One of the biggest changes we’re making is switching to a steel cannula infusion set. We’re hoping it’ll help reduce site failures and provide more consistent insulin delivery. Sometimes it’s the little changes that make the biggest difference.

His A1C was up a bit from last visit, but we feel like we have a good understanding of why and, more importantly, a solid plan moving forward. That’s what matters most.

Living with Type 1 diabetes is all about learning, adjusting, and continuing to move forward. Every challenge teaches us something, and we’re hopeful this change will make a big difference.
