In recognition of Contact Lens Safety Month, Primera Professional Pharmacy encourages contact lens wearers to make safe lens care part of their everyday routine:

• Always wash and dry your hands before handling contact lenses.
• Follow your eye care professional’s recommended replacement schedule.
• Never sleep in lenses unless they are specifically prescribed for overnight wear.
• Keep contact lenses away from water, including while swimming or showering.
• Clean and replace your contact lens case as recommended.
• Never share contact lenses with another person.
• Schedule regular eye exams and contact your eye care professional if you experience persistent redness, pain, sensitivity to light, discharge, or changes in vision.

Why Might a Healthcare Provider Prescribe Compounded Medication? Commercially manufactured medications meet the needs of millions of patients—but there are situations when a patient may require something different.

That might include:
• A different medication strength
• An alternative dosage form
• A preparation without certain inactive ingredients
