It’s pretty unique, I know, to combine primary care, urgent care, functional medicine, and aesthetics under one roof. But honestly, this is exactly why I think it’s so special. 💚

It starts with a medical history intake form. Then we talk. And those little conversations we have during your injections, treatments, or appointments? Yep… my wheels are turning then, too. 😂

Because I’m listening.

“MEET THE TEAM”💚 our Provider Ashlee Pinkston, FNP-C

Growing up with a mother who was a nurse, I developed a strong desire to pursue a career in healthcare from an early age. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana State University in 2006 and began my career as an ICU nurse at Regional Hospital, later serving as an ICU manager.

In 2017, I graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with my Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner and became AANP board certified. As a nurse practitioner, I have spent the past decade caring for patients in the ER at Union Hospital, Gastroenterology, and most recently, five years working alongside Dr. Eduardo Esper in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.

My years in acute and critical care, along with managing chronic disease, have taught me invaluable lessons about the complexity of health and the importance of treating the whole person—not just a diagnosis.

Alongside my professional journey, I have experienced my own personal health and wellness journey. Joining a CrossFit gym challenged me to educate myself about wellness… after all, KNOWLEDGE IS POWER. Learning new lifestyle choices helped me lose weight, become stronger, and ultimately become a healthier and happier version of myself. That journey sparked an even deeper passion for helping others identify the barriers standing between where they are today and where they want to be.

Today, I am passionate about helping my patients achieve optimal health, wellness, and longevity through personalized, evidence-based care. My goal is to meet each person where they are, understand the whole picture, and help them build a healthier life they can truly enjoy. 💚 ✨

If you’ve been to Emerald Health & Wellness, there’s a good chance you’ve already met Nurse Cheri!

Cheri Oliver is a Registered Nurse with more than 40 years of nursing experience spanning an incredible variety of specialties, including Labor & Delivery, Pediatrics, Head Start, pediatric and geriatric mental health, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care), and clinic nursing.

And yes… she’s also our pediatric phlebotomy specialist! 🩸💚

But her experience doesn’t stop there. Cheri was once a Weight Watchers program leader in Sullivan County, bringing years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in nutrition, healthy weight management, and lifestyle change to Emerald.

You’ll find Nurse Cheri helping with:

✨ Patient check-in and intake
✨ Medical histories
✨ Bedside procedures
✨ Adult and Pediatric in office blood draws
✨ Weight-loss nutrition counseling
✨ Patient education
✨ And so much more!

Of course, every great team has someone who keeps things interesting… and for Cheri, computers are NOT her favorite. 😂

You may occasionally catch her rolling her eyes at the computer… or at her daughter and clinic owner, Ashlee. 🤣💻

But jokes aside, Cheri is one of those people who brings something incredibly special to our team. Her kindness, empathy, willingness to learn, and eagerness to share her knowledge and life experiences make her an incredible asset to Emerald Health & Wellness.

And having your mom as part of your team? Pretty special. 💚

💚 MEET THE TEAM: ANNA 💚

The woman behind the scenes keeping Emerald running! 🌿

If you’ve ever called Emerald Health & Wellness, scheduled an appointment, received a portal message, or walked into a clean, organized office… there’s a very good chance Anna had something to do with it! 😁

Anna Horton-Mauck is our Office Coordinator & Front Desk Receptionist, bringing an incredible 42 years of experience in secretarial, administrative, office management, banking, and corporate positions to Emerald!

Her career has taken her across several states and through some pretty impressive roles, including:

✨ Engineering Administrator with Rockwell International Aerospace
✨ Marketing Administrator with Rockwell/Boeing
✨ Office Manager for KBK Inc., a Japanese forwarding agency
✨ Training Department Administrator with BRP US Inc.

Basically, she is one of the people trying to keep Ashlee from going completely crazy. 🤪😂

You’ll find Anna:

📞 Answering the phones
📅 Scheduling appointments
💻 Managing portal messages
📝 Keeping everyone organized
💰 Finding resources and ways to save costs
🧹 Keeping the office beautiful and tidy

Outside of Emerald, Anna stays busy volunteering her cleaning, teaching, and cooking talents at Crossroads Community Church and serving as Vice President of the Sullivan County Garden Club. 🌱🌸

And yes… those beautiful plants around Emerald? Anna is the reason they’re still alive. 😂🌿

As Ashlee’s mother-in-law, Anna brings something extra special to our team. We are incredibly fortunate to have her experience, organization, wisdom, and steady presence helping make Emerald Health & Wellness what it is.

She truly is the behind-the-scenes engine that helps keep this ship sailing! 🚢💚

I’ve always said the hour a day I reserve for exercise is my “me time.” ❤️

I’m not perfect, and I never will be. But for the past 10 years, I’ve been consistent about making time each week to move my body.

Sometimes it’s a grueling CrossFit workout. Sometimes it’s yoga. Sometimes it’s a walk after dinner with my husband and kids. The intensity and routine change, but the reason I do it doesn’t.

It’s my time to release stress. To meditate. To be thankful for all my body is capable of. To “sweat things out” (and sometimes swear 🙃). To slow down and relax—or turn the music way up and throw around some heavy weights.

Because I’m a nurse practitioner. I’m a wife. I’m a mom. I’m a sister, daughter, friend… I’m a lot of things to a lot of people.

And somewhere in the middle of taking care of everyone else, I’ve learned that taking care of me isn’t selfish. It’s necessary.

Self-care doesn’t have to look perfect. It doesn’t have to be an hour at the gym. It can be a walk, a workout, a quiet cup of coffee, a book, a stretch, or simply a few minutes to breathe.

Whatever it looks like for you, make time for it.

Because you deserve some “me time,” too. 💚
