Cain's Holistic Apothecary

Cain's Holistic Apothecary My prayer is to share a Holistic way of life with my Clients & Customers, & prepare natural remedies

I am a Board-Certified Holistic Health Practitioner through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners and a Holistic Wellness Coach certified by the International Association of Professional Career College (IAP). I hold advanced qualifications in Aromatherapy and Herbalism from the School of Natural Health Sciences (SNHS). With over 32 years of hands-on experience blending essential oils

and working with flower essences, I am dedicated to empowering others through the healing power of botanical medicine. My journey is grounded in nearly a decade of formal study in Aromatherapy and Herbalism, complemented by ongoing education to stay at the forefront of holistic health practices. I have an extensive understanding of human anatomy, physiology, and the intricate chemistry of plants, enabling me to craft personalized remedies that are both effective and sustainable. I specialize in addressing various health concerns, including gut health and skin conditions. In my apothecary, I formulate custom remedies such as herbal-infused salves, oil blends, lotions, tinctures, syrups, herbal tea blends, infusions, glycerites, flower essences, herbal honey, and handmade soaps—all created with care and intention.
2019–2020, I proudly served as the Louisiana State Aromatherapist Representative for the Alliance of International Aromatherapists. I am also an active member of the National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy and the American Herbalist Guild. Every day, I strive to create natural solutions that promote balance, harmony, and holistic well-being for those I support.

Herb of the Week: Clove

Clove (Syzygium aromaticum) is much more than a popular kitchen spice. This aromatic flower bud has been used traditionally for generations to support oral health, healthy digestion, and overall wellness.

Its warm, spicy aroma comes primarily from eugenol, a naturally occurring compound that has made clove one of the most recognized herbs in traditional herbal practices.

Have you ever used clove in tea, cooking, or your home apothecary? Educational purposes only. This information is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.

Herb of the Week 🌿
Lemon Balm
Melissa officinalis

Lemon balm has long been cherished in herbal traditions for its gentle calming properties and soft citrus aroma. Often enjoyed as an evening tea, this beautiful herb is commonly used to support relaxation and nervous system wellness.

As with all herbs, thoughtful use matters. Those with thyroid conditions or taking thyroid medication should speak with their healthcare professional before frequent use.

There is something deeply comforting about slowing down, lighting a candle, and preparing a warm cup of tea with intention.

Cilantro 🌿 vs. Coriander 🌾
Same plant. Different parts. Different benefits. Cilantro and coriander come from the same plant (Coriandrum sativum)
Cilantro is the leafy green part. It’s bright, fresh, and known for supporting detox and heavy metal cleansing.
Coriander comes from the dried seeds. It’s warm, earthy, and great for digestion and calming the gut.
In the U.S. we call the leaves cilantro and the seeds coriander, but in most countries, it’s all just coriander.
Together, they balance each other. Fresh and cleansing from the leaves, grounding and soothing from the seeds.
