Good Morning,

The Plateau Action Network is hosting a Lake Clean Up event here at Summersville Lake in cooperation with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the New River Alliance of Climbers. Beginning August 30th it is a multiday event with a Cryptid Chalk Up contest for participants to compete in. Please join us to improve the environment around the lake and friendly fun competition.

Health means much more than simply not being sick. We must really get to the root causes for sustainable change. To improve the overall health of our community, we must work across sectors to make long-term changes that make the healthy choice, the easy choice for everyone who lives, works, learns, and plays in Nicholas County!
This week, the Nicholas County Health Department, the Nicholas County Commission and the City of Summersville welcomed the Wild, Wonderful & Healthy WV team, a program of the Center for Rural Health Development, along with key local stakeholders this week to initiate intentional community planning to help shape a healthier future for Nicholas County!
