So like every other artist experiencing this right now Iām making a post. PLEASE donāt send me ai images for tattoo references and definitely donāt put my art through AI.
Iāve had to explain so many times why AI does not work for tattoos, but to simplify it, Ai creates unrealistic and unachievable expectations for your tattoo.
It creates these images by stealing other peopleās art off the internet, not taking into account the factors of tattooing it onto someoneās body like size, placement and spacing.
The same factors that tattoo artists have knowledge about and how a tattoo is going to be done on the skin, and how it looks when healed. I cannot fit a massive amount of detail in a 2 inch space. No one can.
The thing thatās been eating at me lately and why Iām deciding to make this post; is how it takes away our creativity, and limits us in the design process. You are literally paying us to draw, and tattoo that onto you. When you send me a tattoo thatās already done by a computer, itās not my artwork. It feels like Iām no better than a copy machine. You have to trust your artist, look at their art, their style and be sure you love it. And if you donāt, thatās completely okay. Iām not making this post in hate to people who do use AI, Iām just tired about how much it hurts me and other artists.
Look at other healed tattoos online, photographs of what youāre wanting, or even a drawing of it yourself if you are unsure how to describe it. I promise you Iāll love it so much more.
