Now that the word is out, I can post it publicly. The end of a season has come. The Lord has called me out of the salon. He hasn't made it completely clear what my next season will look like but that is OK. He knows and that is what matters. At first it was scary, but once you put your complete trust in Him, those feelings dissipate. April 30 is my last day "doing hair".
The past 15 years has been nothing short of amazing. Every client has brought new life to this career. I have met some of the best people and have had the opportunity to be a part of many life challenges and changes with my clients. I have always said and still know it to be true, the relationships in this job is so much more than the hairstyling or coloring. I have had the opportunity to help women and men see their beauty inside and out. I have had the opportunity to walk through some very tough life obstacles with people in a way that very few have the opportunity to do. I have been the confidante, counselor, friend, prayer warrior, the list goes on and on. I thank the Lord everyday for those opportunities and blessings. Many of my clients have seen my girls grow up and become beautiful young ladies. I have seen many of my clients' kids grow up into amazing young adults.
Many of my clients have also been there for me through life's ups and downs. I have called on them many times for prayer and advice.
God knows what my next season looks like and I am excited to walk it out. That doesn't mean I am not sad to be closing this chapter in my life. Change is hard.
