WOMEN AT THE WELL is a
monthly Essene Sisterhood Gathering.
A virtual sanctuary for women who feel called to draw more deeply from the living waters of the Essene way—its contemplative wisdom, devotion to simplicity, reverence for the natural world, inner purification, and remembrance of the Divine within.
Together, Essene sisters Lauren and Leah invite you into a space to step away from the noise, declutter the mind, and return to the wisdom of the soul.
The Well has long been a place of encounter, a place where we come empty and leave carrying something living.
This is a place to receive so that we may give.
A place to replenish what has been poured out.
A place to fill the cup—the holy vessel—so that we may return to our lives, families, communities, and service with greater presence and radiance.
Each month, we will gather around a different theme designed to deepen our exploration and embodiment of Essene spirituality and the Divine Feminine, creating space for conversation, shared wisdom, ritual, and the mystery of what arises when women gather at the Well together.
Our First Gathering is
October 10th at 10:00 AM Central
Gatherings will be held on zoom. Recordings will be available temporarily through MONASTICA, allowing us to cultivate a more intimate container. Portions of our personal sharing and sacred conversation will remain offline and unrecorded to honor the privacy of the circle.
As this sisterhood grows, we hope future gatherings become increasingly collaborative—a place where many voices, gifts, experiences, and expressions of the Essene way can be brought to the Well.

Among them was Mechthild of Magdeburg, a thirteenth-century mystic whose The Flowing Light of the Godhead gives voice to an intimate, passionate relationship with the Divine.

Her words invite us to contemplate: What might happen if we allowed Love to lead?

The monastics and mystics have always been quiet rebels.

They entered deserts, forests, mountains and hidden places when the world became too loud.

They chose silence over noise.
Simplicity over excess.
Presence over urgency.
Prayer over reaction.

Perhaps this is the monastic invitation for our time.

When the world asks us to become louder,
we go deeper.

We become like water—
yielding, yet powerful enough to reshape stone.

Like roots—
descending into darkness before rising toward the light.

Like the womb—
quietly holding what is not yet visible.

This is another kind of power.

A wisdom that does not force, grasp, hurry or prove.

It listens.
It receives.
It discerns.
And when the time is ripe,
it brings forth.

The rebellion is not to escape the world,
but to return to it differently.

Quiet enough to hear beneath the noise.
Still enough to know what is ours to do.
Free enough not to be possessed by the urgency around us.

Become the monastery.

Carry silence into the noise.
Stillness into the urgency.
Prayer into the ordinary.

There is a Way between rigid religion and spirituality without roots.

A Way where tradition becomes a vessel rather than a boundary.
Where ancient wisdom gives us roots, language, rhythm, and a foundation for discernment—and mysticism invites us beyond what can be known into what must be encountered.

This is the path of the holy human…
Rooted in Earth, reaching toward Heaven.
Formed by wisdom, yet open to Mystery.
Learning not only to believe in the Divine, but to participate in Divine Life.

The mystic does not abandon the vessel.
She allows it to carry her into deeper waters.

From religion into relationship.
From doctrine into embodiment.
From knowing about God into gnosis—the intimate knowing born through communion.

Perhaps this is the invitation of the Way—
to become deeply rooted enough that we are no longer afraid of the Mystery.
