If you could give one piece of advice to someone who is just starting their sobriety journey, what would it be? 💜

Maybe it’s something you wish someone had told you. Maybe it’s something you had to learn the hard way. Or maybe it’s a simple reminder that helped you get through those early days.

Drop your advice in the comments. You never know who might need to read it today. ❤️

Addiction does not discriminate.

It doesn’t care how old you are, how much money you make, where you live, what you do for a living, or what your life looks like from the outside.

Young or old. Rich or poor. Successful or struggling. Addiction can affect anyone—and it touches families, friendships, and communities along the way.

But addiction doesn’t have to be the end of the story.

There is help. There is support. There are people who understand. And there is always a chance to take that first stepp toward something different.

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You just have to know that help is there when you’re ready. ❤️

I had a conversation with my therapist recently about forgiveness—specifically, forgiving ourselves for choices we've made.

And something she said really made sense to me:

Maybe you don't have to forgive yourself for everything. Maybe you can learn to accept it.

Acceptance doesn't mean pretending a choice was okay or wishing you could do it all over again. It means looking at the whole picture.

Who were you at that point in your life?
What was going on around you?
Who were you spending your time with?
What were you dealing with emotionally?
What did you know then that you know differently now?

Sometimes we look back at an old version of ourselves with everything we've learned since—and judge that person by who we are today.

I may never feel good about every choice I've made. But I can understand how I got there. I can accept that it happened, learn from it, and make different choices now.

That feels a lot more realistic to me than forcing forgiveness I don't actually feel.

You don't have to rewrite your past to make peace with it.

Some nights don’t need plans. 🔥

Just a fire, the people you love, a few laughs, and nowhere else you need to be.

These are the nights I never want to rush. ❤️

Sober life: because I’ve already made enough questionable decisions for one lifetime. 😂

Now I make them fully hydrated and with a good night’s sleep. ☕💧

Breaking a habit is weird.

You can know something isn’t working for you anymore and still find yourself doing it—simply because it’s familiar.

The same routine. The same reaction. The same “I’ll do it differently next time.”

Change doesn’t always happen the first time you decide you want it. Sometimes it takes a few tries. Sometimes a lot of tries.

What matters is noticing, trying again, and giving yourself enough time to make the new thing feel familiar too. 💛
